Caritas - Saturday evening [Open]

The dance floor was put together. GOB couldn't help but wonder when the annoying redhead was going to gloat over this. Oh well. He had things to try out. "Hey, zombies. Try dancing!"

What he witnessed over the next three minutes was the most disturbing thing he had ever seen in his life. "Okay. You can stop." They did. Ten minutes later.

That's why GOB was drinking tonight.

After seeing the poster from last night, Lucifer just had to stop by Caritas to check things out.

He took a seat at the bar, looking out at the brand new dance floor.

"Hey there," GOB said, wondering if what Sister Rosette told him a while ago was true. If it was, he was determined to not piss this guy off. Because he's always been so successful at not angering people. "Can I get you something?"

GOB hadn't angered him yet, but the night was still young.

"Vodka martini."

"Hey, Tino! Vodka martini for our distinguished competition," GOB said. "Are you going to stop by for New Year's Eve, too?"

Lucifer shook his head, a small smirk forming on his face. "No, I will be at my club for the celebrations."

"Oh, I figured you'd given up already," GOB said. Then he thought about what he thought about earlier. "But I'm glad you haven't. I appreciate the competition."

"Always glad to be of service," Lucifer replied, smirk getting larger as GOB tried to be polite.

"How's business going anyway?" GOB asked. "I haven't bothered going back since you first opened so I wouldn't know."

"Well enough," Lucifer said, giving Tino a look for not bringing him his drink fast enough. "And yourself?"

Tino was there with the drink. He then slunk away from the look. "Not bad. Not bad at all. I just had a successful Three Minute Date event and we're looking to pick up a lot of business tomorrow. Especially with the new dance floor. Like it?"

"Very much so." He turned to look back at the dance floor and took a sip of his martini. "Any reason for the sudden addition of it?"

"People need to dance on New Year's," GOB said.

"Ah," Lucifer said. "Well, like you said, it is always good to have competition."

"Don't worry. I hate the thing to begin with. I'll be happy to get rid of it after tomorrow night," GOB said. "But. If you like competition."

Lucifer shrugged and grinned into his drink. "Competition keeps you on your toes."

"And sometimes that competition will cut off your toes and you'll fall over, crying and toeless," GOB said.

Lucifer grinned at GOB's description, or at least he showed his teeth in a way that could be considered a smile. If you didn't have that mammalian instinct to run from large predators, that is.

"Very true."

"Yeah, well, let's both make sure we don't wear sandles around each other while the other is carrying a knife, then," GOB said. "We wouldn't want anyone to be too literal, now."

The 'smile' stayed in place for a moment longer before he took a sip of his martini. "We wouldn't want that at all," He said in a condescending tone.

The fact that GOB took a step back had nothing to do with that continuing smile. No, he just wanted to take a step back, that's all. "Well, here's hoping your party goes almost as well as mine." GOB raised his glass and smiled, taking another step back. "To competition."

Dance! At long last!

Yes, I know that Willow isn't in town at the moment. SORRY!
