The Fourth Sin, Wednesday Evening

Miho had noticed the recent influx of new residents to the town, and had a bright idea. A sign in the Sin's front yard now said, 'Discounted services for new residents/students.' So the services were the ones no one ever wanted and the discount was five cents. They didn't have to know that.

Inside the Sin, Miho sat behind the front desk, polishing her knife collection and polishing off the leftover gingerbread and rum-with-a-touch-of-nog.

After deciding to go in search of 'handmaidens' for the mansion, Ares wandered into the Sin.

Miho looked up from her work and arched one eyebrow questioningly at Ares.

Ares grinned when he saw Miho's handiwork, he had to love a woman with weapons. "Hey, there," he said. "I was hoping I might be able to do business with this fine establishment."

Miho pulled out their rates sheet and the rules sheet (most of the rules ended with '...or Miho will stab you') and offered them both to Ares.

Ares grin broadened at all the instances of '...or Miho will stab you'. "These prices seem reasonable enough," he replied. "I assume you charge extra for housecalls?"

Miho nodded affirmation and scribbled down a figure on a post-it note.

Ares glanced at the note. "Also reasonable. So are any of your girls as proficient with weaponry as yourself?"

Miho gave him a 'bitch, please,' look. This was not, however, to say that the girls were helpless.

"I didn't think so, but it never hurts to ask."

Miho shrugged and said softly, "They have...other ways."

"No doubt they do," Ares agreed. "Still, you can't really beat the classics."

Miho smiled at him. No, you really couldn't, she thought.

Yondaime stopped outside of the Fourth Sin and debated on going inside. Not that he was interested in the services they provided, but he seemed to remember that Miho said that she worked there when he met her on the blind date. He was dying to know more about the space ninja.

He poked his head inside, smiling in releif to see Miho at the front desk. "Hello Miho."

Miho waved at him and something like the ghost of a smile flickered across her face. She remembered him. He came from a whole town of ninjas.

He smiled back and walked up to the desk. "How are you? I wanted to come and see you after the fate thing, but I got pulled back home." Yondaime was really only interested in talking to Miho, or at least find out when would be a good time to.

Miho shrugged. "//Fairly bored. There was a troll invasion. They did not bleed satisfactorily.//"

"//I've never fought a troll, I wish I had been here for it. It seems to have gone better than my mission did.//" Yondaime looked around the area. "//Are you busy at the moment? It's just nice to talk with someone who at least has a vauge idea of what I'm talking about, but I can come back another time.//"

"//Not at all,//" Miho said. "//I can't leave here, though. Someone has to watch the desk.//"

He smiled brightly. "//Completely understandable. I get the impression that this is the kind of establishment that needs the extra hand. Especially with new people who might not know the limits.//" Yondaime's face darkened slightly as he mentioned the arrival of new people.

"//Yes. Sometimes they must be...taught a lesson,//" Miho said, her tone matching the darkness in Yondaime's face. "//Is there a problem?//"

"//Hopefully, not.//" Yondaime pursed his lips a moment. "//Someone from an enemy village is now a student at the school, and my new TA.//"

Miho heard 'enemy' and went straight to, "//Stab him until he's dead.//"

"//Tempting, but I don't think stabbing students is allowed for teachers.//" Yondaime grinned. "//He hasn't done anything outright against me yet. But he does have some cards in his hand that can be used agianst me if I let him, which of course I don't plan to.//"

"//I could stab him until he's dead?//" She sounded kind of...hopeful.

"//If there's nothing against it.//" He shrugged still smiling. "//First let me find out what I can from him, he might have good information and if he's who I think he is...//" Yondaime glanced at Miho, suddenly looking very serious. "//No offense, but he might be even much for either of us to take on alone.//"

"//If you say so,//" Miho said. "//He can't be that tough.//"

"//Either way, I'd rather not risk it until I find out more.//" He gave her a smile, trying to be optimistic. "//I might be making nothing out of this but if something happens that I can't handle, I'll be sure to let you know.//"

Miho nodded to show her appreciation of this sentiment, but privately thought Yondaime was being too optimistic. In her experience, optimism got you killed.

Billy decided he still needed to relax. And perhaps a christmas present to himself would do the trick.

"Evening." he said respectfully. Ooh, nice knives.

Miho looked up and arched one eyebrow at Billy.

"Hi." he continued. "I'm uh, here for the usual purpose I suppose."

Miho handed him a rates sheet and a copy of the rules.

They hadn't changed much since the last time he was here. He did however, fully approve of the `or Miho will stab you` part.

"This sounds like fun." he said, pointing to one of the selections. "Nice blades by the way." he nodded towards the weapons.

Miho shrugged, then gestured to the stairs and pointed to the right. One of the girls would be with him shortly.

"Thanks." Billy said, paying and then heading up the stairs.
