Town Hall - Monday

This weekend, Braca joined match.com. Having been bored at home (again) and with the internet his only real connection to the world, he'd found the site, signed up (using the name iamthebestadmiral, and immediately gotten an email from sweetandsassy4289 about wanting to talk.

She'd stopped emailing him after he'd told her of his affection for world domination but Braca was optimistic on the future.

Steerpike had finally located what passed for the seat of government in this town, and decided to make his acquaintance with the mayor, see if there was anything to gain by it.

He knocked respectfully on the door, carefully smoothing the handmedown waistcoat over the equally hand me down white shirt. Really, he would have to get some clothes of his own, soon. He was looking far too much like a butler.

Braca doesn't get very many visitors so he was immediately on his guard when the knock came.

"Enter," he said, trying to sound authoritative.

Steerpike noted that the Mayor had the sound of one who was trying to make a certain impression. He smiled inwardly, even as he entered, stood just inside the door, and bowed low. "Good morning, sir. You are the mayor of our town?"

"I am," he said shortly, placing his pen on the desk and looking up. "And you are?"

"My name is Steerpike, sir." He remained in his bow, keeping his eyes down and submissive. "I am a new student up at the school, and I thought it prudent to come and present myself, since a man of your stature would not have time to go out and meet his citizens himself."

This was a first for Braca and he was impressed by the young man's deference to authority.

"Quite right," Braca responded. "You're one of the very few I've met from the school. I thank you for your respect. I am Mayor Braca."

"It is an honor to make your acquaintance, sir." His eyes flicked upwards for a moment, and then he straightened and dropped them back towards the floor. "If I might inquire, sir. Would you be in need of a secretary, or other assistance?"

After last night's visit to Caritas, Captain Liberty has to check into this. So cape magically fluttering behind her, she stands in the doorway to the office and says, "Are you in charge here?"

"The name's Captain Liberty," she says, stepping inside with her hands on her hips in a nicely dramatic pose. "I'm the newest superhero in your town."

Braca held back the urge to laugh. "Are you now? Well, consider me verily impressed. The...cape is quite nice."

Braca was amused. "Oh? But, why, you're the superhero. Why aren't you heroing it away?"

"Because I'd rather get a definitive answer of what the drinking age is here, you moron."

Leo runs the Photo Hut, and up until now has been doing so on his own. However he has hired Steerpike (Wednsday) and Marie (Thursday and Sunday) to work at the Photo Hut.
