All and Sundries -- Wednesday 1/17

Turtle frowned at the broken Squishy machine. No. Not frowned. Glared, as though willing it to work again. She was getting pretty sick of having to explain to Apu that she had no technical ability whatsoever, and, if she went tinkering near it, it was almost a guarantee that she'd probably make it worse. Numbers she could fix. Machines, not so much.

But having it down was going to cut an estimated thirty four point seven percent loss in profits. That Squishy machine was bringing in a lot of money, so she promised, after checking a few digits, to stop in at Sparky's and see if anyone could come have a look at it. It worked out that, while the money to fix it could set them back a little, it was nothing comparied to where they'd be if they left it down.

She hoped Jane wouldn't mind, but Turtle figured, she was partner. She could make decisions like this, right?

Today's Squishy Flavors: Defunct, Gerbroken, Red.

All and Sundries is open.

Teddy entered the shop, a small bag of tools under his arm and a pocket full of dreams. "Turtle?"

Teddy went to the squishie machine and couldn't help but wonder if maybe this wasn't the best idea. He had never fixed a squishie machine before, heck, he'd never really had more than three squishies in his life.

"How did it get broken?" He asked, unpacking his tools.

And that was about the time Teddy finally noticed all the knife marks on the machine. "Was there a fight in the store?" He asked, pointing toward the slashes on the side of the machine.

Teddy took the cover off just to confirm his suspicions that the machine was beyond repair. Wow those knife marks went deep.

He looked over at Turtle. "Um, I don't think I can fix this without replacing, well, everything."

Nodding, Teddy put the cover back on because it just looked better that way. Less corpse-like. "Have Jane call my boss, Agatha. She can tell you how much it would cost to get one of these things built."

"Yeah," Teddy said, packing up his tools. "I'm stopping by the clinic to check in on someone after this and I promised to bring flowers."

"Just flowers," Teddy said, looking a little out of his depth. "Um, which one do you think would look nice?"

Teddy looked at it. "Um, if that's what you think is best..." He said, reaching into his pocket to get some money.
