All and Sundries -- Thursday 1/18

Cube was trying to explain to Turtle again what exactly happened to the Squishy machine, but she couldn't understand a word it was...well, it wasn't even making words, just gurgles, and Turtle couldn't understand it. It looked like she was listening, though, but her attention was just focused on the little earpiece in her ear that was giving her the market report. MT had dropped half a point and so had WPP, but it was still no where near as depressing as considering the profit loss from the still defunct Squishy machine.

Today's Squishy Flavors: None, Not on Your Life, Not a Euphamism OMG

All and Sundries is open.

After leaving the park, Aziraphale made good on his promise to Wilson and headed over to All and Sundries in search of a new winter coat. Walking over to the young woman he recognized from his class, he stopped a polite distance away and smiled.

"Good day, Miss Wexler."

Chuckling a little at Turtle's reaction to what he had to assume was unwelcome news of some sort -- Aziraphale nodded. "Yes, I need to buy a new winter coat. It appears I'm in danger of being put out to sleep on the park bench if I come home without one."

"Well, you do have a good point, my dear," Aziraphale agreed. "So it does rather seem I'd best get the coat. I was hoping for something...well, long. And dark colored. Wool is nice. Nothing flashy, although tweed is very nice."

"Erm..." Aziraphale mused, following Turtle. "The goth-spy look isn't really me. I don't suppose you have anything resembling more of a...sort of a greatcoat? Although I expect I could make do with a wool cloak..."

It wouldn't have to remain a cloak, after all.

"Thank you, my dear, I'll do just that." He smiled, and began carefully hunting through the assortment of coats Turtle had indicated.

All and Sundries was true to its advertising, Aziraphale decided. They really did have everything. And eventually, after a bit of searching, he found the coat (http://www.armynavydeals.com/asp/products_details.asp?SKU=092105D&ST=2) he was looking for.

Carrying it back to the register, he said, "This one will do perfectly."

He supposed it wouldn't hurt to go home with gloves and a scarf as well. Especially as much grief as he gave Wilson about them.

Aziraphale nodded, and replied, "Yes, I think I'd better do that. Er...what's happened to your cash register?"

Aziraphale couldn't see why being fourteen ought to hinder Turtle from getting orders placed. Hell, back when he had his bookshop, his students did a far better job of running it than he did. But some people, he figured, had strange sorts of rules.

"Well, I do hope it comes in soon, then," he said, paying cash for the coat and other items. "It seems like not having to do it all by hand would make your job a bit easier."

Blinking, Aziraphale realized that he probably should be glad he didn't have Turtle working at his shop. There'd have been nothing left of his inventory.

"Well, you do seem to be very good at this, my dear. I imagine Miss Canary is awfully glad to have your help." He smiled, pulling on the coat to wear out and tucking the gloves and scarf into his pockets. "Thank you very much, Miss Wexler. You've saved me from having to spend some rather cold nights sleeping out of doors."
