Caritas - Friday evening [Open]

After a long week of quiet after Steve Holt left, GOB was ready to party. Because of this, he had the band play nothing but power ballads from the 80's. It was a Whitesnake world tonight and everyone in Caritas was just living in it.

Annette sat down at that bar; it had been a long week and she was in need of a little relaxation. The music was retro, but she liked it. She really liked it.

GOB saw the girl sitting down at the bar and smiled. That was a good way to make a good first impression, which tended to lead to happier customers who gave better tips. "Hi. What can I get you?"

"Hey," she smiled in return. "Ohhhh, I don't know. Surprise me?"

"Hey, Tino! A surprise for the hot young lady!" GOB called out. Compliments were also helpful for tips. GOB was having trouble with subtlety, though.

When Tino brought over A Very Berry Surprise (http://www.drinkswap.com/drinks/detail.asp?recipe_id=212), GOB said, "There you go. I have no clue what it is."

Annette laughed at his compliment. It was true though, she was a very good tipper.

"Oh, it looks wonderful." She took a small sip, her brows raising. "Very good." She really wasn't a drinker. Not at all actually. But this was nice and smooth and fruity. Very good.

"I'm Annette, by the way."

"GOB Bluth. I own the place," GOB said. "You one of those new kids at the school, or are did you just take a long time to get in here?"

"A pleasure to meet you Mr. Bluth." She said with a warm smile. "I am one of those new kids and this is my second time coming into Caritas. I was here the other night when Teal Deer performed."

She looked at him over the rim of her glass as she took another drink.

"You have a great place here."

"Really? I must have been distracted by something," GOB said. He had, in fact, been distracted by something. Specifically Emma Frost. "Thanks, though. I put this place together to get a certain ambience." It was an ambiance called 'I didn't put this place together.' And it was 'ambiance,' not 'ambience.'

"That night was a busy one; you couldn't possibly have greeted everybody." She said easily, knowing she hadn't seen him either that night. Of course, she had been with Steerpike, and he was kind of hard to ignore.

Annette took several more sips from her glass, enjoying the music. A big stress reliever.

"How long have you been here, working and whatnot?"

"I've been in Fandom a bit over a year, I started working here as an entertainer a little under that, and I've been running it since April," GOB said, pouring a glass of Scotch for himself.

"Oh? What kind of entertainment, if you don't mind my asking?" Annette asked, drinking her drink like a ... happy drinking person.

"Well, asking like that is like asking for pennies..." GOB raised his arms dramatically and a shower of coins flew down from ~~his wrist~~ the sky onto the bar. "... from heaven!"

GOB smiled and said, "I'm an illusionist."

"Oh!" Annette laughed, reaching for a couple of the coins. "So you can fix drinks, deliver, and tip yourself!" She winked at him and grabbed two more coins, not pocketing them, just seeing if they were real. Not that it mattered. Really.

"Show me something else, Mr. Bluth?" Annette set her little black pocketbook on the table, making it clear that her tip would defintely be generous.

GOB was a magic whore. He would never admit that, but it was true. "Instead of giving you another trick, how about I give you some flowers?" GOB asked, pulling a bouquet out of ~~his other sleeve~~ thin air.

Her lips curved upwards in the right corner. Pulling flowers from thin air was the oldest trick in the book. Or close to it. But still, it was a sweet trick.

"You are a Master of Illusion, Mr. Bluth." She said with a grin, accepting the flowers. "Amazing. I would have brought my camera if I thought I was going to get treated to a show."

"I have videos of some of my biggest illusions," GOB said. The only video he had for sale was the not-meant-for-minors Girls With Low Self Esteem: Spring Break. They only showed the bloopers from his act. He probably shouldn't sell that one to any students. "But you don't need that. I'm here every weekend and I'm always happy to put on a show." But only if it meant a better tip.

She might have pouted and she laid a hand over her pocketbook. "I don't? I would love watching some of your video's. Are they for sale? I am sure sharing them in the common rooms at school would be a hit!"

Her drink was nearly gone.

The only reason GOB was even considering not selling the video was because he looked like a chump in it. On the other hand, this was money. GOB was also a video whore. "You know what? I think I have a few--" twenty, "-- copies of something. Want to have Tino go pick it up now, or do you want it delivered later?"

"...well, if it's not too much trouble? I'd like to take it with me when I leave, maybe watch it before I go to bed."

She opened her pocketbook and pulled out her wallet, looking over at him expectantly. "How much, Mr. Bluth?"

"They usually retail for $9.99," GOB said. He stepped over to Tino and whispered, "Tino! Go to my place, grab one of the special videos in the 'GOB Bluth Magic' pile, and bring it back here. You'll get half my tip."

Tino ran off. "He'll be right back."

Annette smiled. "Thank you, Mr. Bluth."

She pulled out a fifty dollar bill and slid it across the counter to him. "This is for everything tonight, I've really enjoyed myself thanks to you." Yeah, Annette's money might be burning a whole in her pocket.

"If there's one thing I do well, it's illusion. But if there's two things I do well, it's illusion and making sure women enjoy themselves," GOB said, skeezily.

GOB's yacht wasn't far from Caritas and Tino was a good runner who prided himself on quick, NPC service. Tino also had the sense to put the DVD in a small bag so the fact that it was actually pornography wasn't immediately obvious. "Oh, here's the DVD," GOB said. "My act starts about thirty-four minutes in."

Her expression was a little unsure at that comment, but she managed a slight smile and nod, saying, "So I am learning."

She took the bag with the dvd in it and tucked it away in her pocketbook, standing while she finished the last swallow of her drink.

"I am expecting great things from you when I see this video!" She said in a slightly teasing tone. "Good night, Mr. Bluth. I'll let you know what I think when next I see you." She waved and left.

(ooc: *snickers* so Annette is going to see exactly what? Naked girls. Naked girls and GOB. Naked girls and GOB with Tino?)

[OOC: Girls With Low Self Esteem is a thinly veiled spoof of Girls Gone Wild. It'll be thirty-four minutes of college girls taking their shirts off on spring break, then two minutes of bloopers from GOB's magic show on stage at spring break, and then another thirty minutes or so of college girls taking their shirts off.

This is canonical. I love my canon so much. :D ]
