Turtle & Canary; Wednesday [ 01/31 ]

It was her first day with the new SquishyBot, working under the store's new name, and so Turtle was in an incredibly good mood. Enough to possibly forgive some dirty panty thieves in which dirty modifies the theives or, at the very least, forget about her plots for revenge for a little bit. All that was left was the register, and that should come in any day now. In her eagerness, she was flipping through the manuals for it again.

Today's Squishy (yay!) flavors: Bananarama, Oingo Boingo, Red.

Turtle & Canary (yay!) is open.

Tannim stopped in after Engineering to pick up some food.

Hum. Okay, this was definately a dilemma. Tannim totally deserved a kick and she could totally get him while he was scanning through the shelves, but she was also feeling a very strong sense of reluctance toward kicking him. She reminded herself that he deserved it. He couldn't get mad at her for merely dealing out justice, right? Right.

Turtle took in a deep breath, looked down toward Liz. "Ya got me covered, right, Lizzie?" She responded with a metalic bark. Turtle nodded. "Cover counter for me, Apu." She was going in.

The length of the aisle provided a good runway to pick up some speed as Turtle charged forward, smashing her foot into Tannim's shin just as he probably would have noticed her rushing toward him. "Panty theif!" she declared.

Maybe going for the long run wasn't a good idea, because she ended up kicking him much harder than she had anticipated.

Tannim was a (somewhat) experienced mage with personal magical shields and years of study.

None of which had taught him how to defend himself against angry teenage girls.

"OW!" he yelped. He hopped up on one foot to grab his shin and stumbled backwards into the nearest shelf.

"Ack!" Turtle quickly moved to try to catch Tannim before he decided to trash the whole store. Geez, it was just a kick! "Watch it!" she warned him. "You break it, you bought it."

"Are you buying my shin bone, then?" Tannim demanded, sticking out his leg at her. He did manage to regain his balance, though.

"Oh, it's not broken," Turtle insisted. "At best, you'll get a teeny little bruise, but if it means that much to you, sure, I'll buy it."

She was now running through her head the possible rates for shin bones, and questioning whether such a thing really actually existed.

"I think your definition of 'teeny' is not the same as mine," Tannim said. "And for the record, I did not take your panties!"

"I never said you took mine," Turtle said, although she was glad to mark at least one name off the list of possible people who needed to be kicked twice. "Were you, or were you not involved in the panty raid? Involvement is the only charge necissary for reprecussion, and I saw you running through the common room in that little victory lap you guys did."

River had walked past and noticed the new sign. She didn't even know Turtle worked here, but took it as an excuse to peek inside and wave to Turtle. "Still sell pens?" she asked.

"Absolutely," Turtle nodded with conviction and a smile as River came in. "All sorts of pens. So many pens, you won't even believe it."

So she went a little over the top. Just a little.

River didn't mind people going over the top about pens. "I need a few new ones. Black and purple." She smiled. "How's your hair?"

Jude has his Oingo Boingo squishy. He had had his Oingo Boingo squishy for a few minutes now.
