By the Lake in the Park - Mid to Late Evening

After running into each other handwavily in the hallway, Isabel and Katara decided that they really needed to have some fun after the past week between the shadows and classes and everything else.

That was why they met back down at lake after the moon had risen, Isabel having made some handwavy phone calls and Katara simply excited to be playing on ice.

Happy the moon was full, Katara took a deep breath and concentrated on the water in the lake, turning the top layer into ice thick enough for people to stand - or skate - on.  

She turned to grin at Isabel.  "There we go!  Ice skating!"

Grateful to think about something fun for a change, Isabel sat by the side of the pond and laced up the skates she'd acquired earlier. "I've only done this a few times. This could get ugly!"

Katara giggled as she pulled on the ones she'd dug up as well. "I've never used this type of skate before so I'll probably be in the same state."

Jack eventually got back to his room, where he found Izzy's message and - amazingly enough - a pair of ice skates in his size. Obviously, Fandom wanted him to go ice skating, and who was he to argue with Fandom?

He waved as he sat down to put his skates on. "I haven't done this with blades, only with wheels. But I figure the principle's the same."

"In theory, I guess," Isabel grinned. "Don't fall down."

Katara waved at the boy as she took a few tottering steps onto the ice. "Just don't fall through!"

Will overheard his last comment as she passed nearby on the ice.

"It's kinda like rollerblading, except that it's much colder and you can cut people with your feet," she said cheerfully.

Angela arrived at the lake bundled up against the cold, toting a battered and rather small pair of skates. "I haven't done this since middle school," she admitted, sounding a little giddy.

Jack smiled at her. "I don't think I've ever done this. You might have to help hold me up."

Katara bounced slightly and then flailed a bit when she lost her balance. "It'll be fun!"

"You and me both. I think we're all going to be sore tomorrow," Isabel laughed. "But we'll have fun tonight."

Marty isn't skating. No way no how. He is however on the side of the lake with a thermos and heavily bundled. "Hey skater girl."

Parker got Isabel's message, and was feeling well enough to head out and *do* something. She started out with a couple simple figure eights, just to get her skating legs in place.

Katara waved to the girl she hadn't met yet I don't think. "Hi!"

Angela watched Parker carefully, skating nearby. "I'm still working on my straight lines," she said with a grin.

Jack - wobbly, but staying up - skated closer to Parker. "You know, this isn't as hard as I thought it would be. Which usually isn't a good thing."

Tori watched Parker in amazement. "Wow." It was the only thing she could manage.

Will hadn't gotten an invitation from Isabel, but she had seen the pond freeze over from her window, and decided to take advantage of it. After rooting out a pair of skates from her closet and dressing up warmly, she headed down to the lake, and was pleasantly surprised to see other people there.

"Looks like everyone's keen to go skating today," she said.

"It's fun. And it's been a rough week," Isabel explained as she slowly slid by. "I'm Isabel by the way."

"Because we wanted to do something fun," Katara explained with a grin. "Come join us!"

Willow was on her way to the radio station but decided to swing by and say hi to people. She peered at the lake, but stayed safely on the shore.

Katara skated over to wave to her. "Hi Willow! Come to skate?"

"Willow!" Isabel waved. Which threw her off balance. There was flailing.

Tori had seen Katara and Isabel outside through her window and decided to see what they were up to, before going to hang out in a common room.

She bundled up and headed down to the lake, smiling at the people that were all ready there.

"Tori! Hi! Nice to see you in a non-life or death situation!" Isabel waved.

Hermione had been out in town when she passed the park, then stopped at the dorms long enough to get her skates before returning. She's not very good, but she has them.
