Turtle & Canary - Monday
Jane has been lost under a pile of empty bottles in the back.
Lizzy sits on the front counter keeping an eye on things while Apu cleans up broken glass and mops up... stuff, over by the currently mostly empty hard liquor display.
Apu is a little flustered today, so today's romantic music is actually "New Romantic":
Kings of the Wild Frontier
Today's Squishy Flavors:
Red, Caramel, Almond Whorl
Turtle & Canary is open.

She nearly dropped her clipboard. "Holy crap, we've been hit by a rampant alcoholic! Apu! Did you call over to the bars and warn them? They could be next!"

She peeked cautiously through her fingers.

"I did, Miss Turtle."
She nodded. "Good. Gimme that," she held out her hand and took the broom from him, flipped it upside down, and then tentatively poked at the pile of bottles.

Then again, at the same time, she sure hoped it was Jane, because if it was some other, random, unknown alcoholic, all Turtle had to defend herself was a broom. Well, that and a kick of death, so maybe she'd be okay.

*clatter clatter clank clank*
"SHHHHHH!"

"Jane, do I really want to know?"

There was a pause. "Or I guess I could just leave you alone. But you an' me might need to have a serious discussion on merchandice abuse, Ms. Canary."
That was Turtle using her stern voice.

"Coffee would be good thanks."

Returned long enough afterward, with coffee, that she manned the broom and poked again just in case Jane had fallen back into a drunken swoon.
Plus, it was fun.

"Muh!"

Grabbing a not quite so empty bottle, she emptied the dregs of it into the coffee and took a sip.

"Yer right Turtle. I'm sorry." she said trying to sit up a little more.

Slowly.
"Right... I should probably go... drink some water or something."
Who is this woman and what has she done with Jane?

"I'm afraid there's not much demand for those sir, but I think we might have one in the back."
Apu lead him into a deep deep dark dark deep dark deep dark corner of the store full of cob webs, pet rocks, rotary phones, and one portable record player (http://www.musicmanmurray.com/recordplayers/mmm%20crossley/cr49ta_XL.jpg).
