Empire Records; Wedneday [ 02/14 ], evening shift.
Leave it to Chad to still come into work, despite really not feeling himself at the moment.
He was starting to understand why Rikku was so bouncy. While he certainly didn't have a clue why he was still stuck looking and sounding like Rikku, or even why he had become Rikku in the first place, he was really marvelling a little at her form from an inside perspective. He just felt...so light and little, and not big and awkward and, heck, if he was like this all the time, he'd bounce as much as she did, too. It was actually a little fun. He actually had to reach to get things from tall shelves and could lean against the counter without it creaking at him angrily.
And, really, that was just the beginning of the things about being Rikku that Chad could appriciate. But he didn't want to think too much about some of the others; those could get him in a lot of trouble on several levels.
Chad was also finding as many CDs as he could by female singers to play today in celebration of the new form.
He'd worry about the hows and why and ways to get back to being Chad-Chad and not Rikku-Chad later.
[[ empire's open! Rikku!Form obtained with permission and will be here until Teddy come in and explains how this whole crazy thing happened. I've got to disappear for the class of DOOM for probably three long hours, and will catch any pings after that ]]

But he did have a sudden urge to have his mariachi jacket, even if it would be ridiculously huge on his Rikku body.
...Actually, it could be really cute on his Rikku body.
"Uh, hey," he said, his usual grunt unusually bubbly.

He did wish he'd brought his guitar with him, then maybe they'd let him play along!

"I see... well, no, I do not, but! It is not important!" Martin waved gender and identity confusion away. "A song, for you!"
Martin took up his guitar, nodded to the others, and gestured-- and on the downbeat, they began to sing:
Well, your CD collection looks shiny and costly
How much did you pay for your bad Moto Guzzi?
And how much did you spend on your black leather Jacket?
Is it you or you parents in this income tax bracket?
Now tickets to concerts, and drinking at clubs
Sometimes for music that you haven't even herd of
And how much did you pay for your rock and roll T-shrit,
That proves you were there, that you heard of them first?
Now, how do you afford your rock 'n' roll lifestyle?
How do you afford your rock 'n' roll lifestyle?
How do you afford your rock 'n' roll lifestyle?
Oh, tell me.
Oh yeah, alright.
Alright.
ah yeah
alright oh!
Not exactly romantic. But Martin thought it was appropriate for the venue, and didn't think "Short Skirt, Long Jacket" would work very well.
La la laaa!

Chad was a pretty girl, being serenated by Cake performed by a mariachi band.
He was the luckiest girl in Empire.
"That," he assessed, "was awesome." And gave the Gomez brothers a thumbs up. Which was insanely cute as Rikku.

"Thank you, senorita! Would you like another request?" Martin asked hopefully. "Something for your special young man?"

Larry and Pablo both decided to glare at Martin at this point. Joe and Andreas rolled their eyes.
"--and directed us to the Clinic, for our earlier engagement. He asked us to stop by here tonight for Chad. Only he said you were Mexican." Martin frowned. "Which you may be, but he also said you were male..." The frown became more puzzled. "But! We do not judge. It is fine."
All four mariachis behind him nodded philosophically.
"Perhaps something by Nikki Savage? Or Dirk Hopeless?"

Chad nodded, thinking it best that maybe the mariachi's were better off just thinking he was a crossdressing Mexican with a nice rack who didn't really look Mexican. If he wanted to play with them, he could convince them that it was a great gimmick. "Sure."

After finishing it up, they bowed. "Thank you for listening, Mr. or Miss Chad. And a very happy Valentine's Day!"

He applauded when they finished. With bouncing. THe bouncing just seemed an after effect to being so little and easily bounced.
"Muchos gracias," he nodded.

Sometime after the wonderful Gomez Brothers...
"Chad?"
Re: Sometime after the wonderful Gomez Brothers...
Then Teddy came in and he stopped, turning toward him, a small grin sliding onto his pretty Rikku face. His chin lifted in greeting. "Hey, Ted."
And now, in case Teddy didn't notice. "I'm Rikku today."
What usually sounded so stoic and manly actually came out a little brightly. It was so...surreal to hear himself sound that way.
Re: Sometime after the wonderful Gomez Brothers...
"What the hell happened?"
Re: Sometime after the wonderful Gomez Brothers...
"I think I was Annette an' Pippi for a bit, too. But didn't notice until I got to Rikku."
He wondered if he would have gone through the whole cheerleading squad if he hadn't noticed.
Re: Sometime after the wonderful Gomez Brothers...
And that was the point where Teddy's geeky little brain supplied the instance with those cows and the Fantastic Four.
"Oh crap."
Re: Sometime after the wonderful Gomez Brothers...
A worried look crossed his Rikku face. "Oh crap what?"
Re: Sometime after the wonderful Gomez Brothers...
Teddy buried his face in his hands. This was not happening. It just wasn't.
"I, um, I might know why you turned into Rikku."
And Teddy would have preferred the radioactive waste theory of this.
Re: Sometime after the wonderful Gomez Brothers...
"Why?"
Re: Sometime after the wonderful Gomez Brothers...
"Is there somewhere we can sit?"
Re: Sometime after the wonderful Gomez Brothers...
Which proved more difficult that he expected, because, yeah. Dragging chairs as Rikku was different than dragging chairs as Chad. BUt he did discover that even cute girls could feel awkward too.
Re: Sometime after the wonderful Gomez Brothers...
"So, um, back home there are these super heroes called the Fantastic Four..." He started.
Re: Sometime after the wonderful Gomez Brothers...
Good thing Rikku wasn't wearing a skirt.
"Uh-huh..."
