Turtle & Canary; Thursday [ 02/15 ]

Usually, the day after a commercial holiday meant marking everything you'd previously marked up down to 50% so that you could just get them off the shelves quickly. But Turtle knew better than that. The dance was Friday; people (like Marco and his theoretical date) might be ~~swindled~~ interested in getting their dates another present, out of sheer habitual nature.

Turtle was working on her story for creative writing in between tasks and customers, occationally looking up with a sigh. Where was that damn cash register? You'd think it would have come in by now...

After office hours, Deadpool stopped by to get cheap chocolate and see his non-lesbian minion.

He even brought her a late Valentine's day present (http://www.krittersinthemailbox.com/animals/turtles/mm44400f.jpg).

Hopefully, Mr. Deadpool wasn't too disappointed at the lack of offering of cheap chocolate.

"Hey, Mr. Deadpool!" she greeted him brightly, finishing up a small little doodle in the margins of her notebook of what the ghost might potentially look like.

"Hello Turtle!" Deadpool handed over the little plush he got her. "Prezzie!"

Oooh! Offers of material goods at no personal expense!

Turtle bounced a little as she received the gift. "He's so cute!" she squealed excitedly as she held it out before her to get a good look at it. "Almost as cute as me!"

"Because I couldn't not get my favorite minion a present for Valentine's Day."

"Hooray! Way to give into the spirit of consumerism, Mr. Deadpool!"

She meant it as a compliment, beaming as she snuggled the little plushy turtle a little and then tucked it under the crook of her arm, choking it slightly.

"Thanks."

"I try." He leaned against the counter and looked around. "So, what do you have in the way of alcohol and chocolate?"

"Well, we've got enough chocolate to prevent a group of people crashed in the snowy wilderness of the Antarctic from eating each other," Turtle informed him, "and Jane always keeps a good stock of alcohol, you should know that, although we had a tiny bit of an incident earlier this week and are a mite low on whiskey."

"Hmmm. What kind of chocolate says 'Non-romantic but hoping to get nookie'?"

Turtle frowned at him. "I'm going to insist it's a really good thing that I can't really help you on that one, Mr. Deadpool, sorry."

"That might for the best, yeah." He looked over at the booze. "Damn."

Turtle looked at him innocently. "Sorry. Out of my control. You'll have to take that particular issue up with my ~~alcoholic~~ partner. Meanwhile, though, maybe Apu can help with the chocolate issue? Considering, I'd probably go with the opposite of what he suggests."

Turtle really didn't want to know about the Burning.

I need to stop skipping ENG 251....

It tastes like...burning! Oh Ralph.
