Turtle & Canary - Monday

It was snowing. But they have produce in stock.

Fresh produce. Not canned, or dried, or pickled.

Fresh, year round, produce.

It's only just struck Jane how amazing and wonderful that is.

Right now, she's got a bottle of bourbon and a bowl full of ripe plums.

Life if good.

"Hi, Jane," Turtle smiled. "I gotta talk to you about something. I really, really, really, really hate to do this, but I gotta miss work this week...Is that cool?"

She really, really, really, really hoped so, bouncing slightly in anticipation, as if she was long overdue for a trip to the little girls' room. Apu would totally be fine without her, right?

That list sort of stopped Turtle's bouncing and she just sort of stared at Jane for a moment. "I...won't."

...She'd be with Tannim and his car and probably Chris and Wyatt, too. And she could defeat samurai fishmen. So that made her totally safe, right?
