The heater was broken at Caritas tonight. That's why GOB was drinking tonight. It made him feel warm.

Pakre headed to Caritas after calling Jack, and ordered a rum'n'Coke from Tino. She slowly sipped it, wondering how soon Isabel would be on Antar.

Jack shivered as he sat next to Parker and ordered a brandy from Tino. It was cold in Caritas, and he knew it would warm him up fast.

He didn't say anything until after it arrived and he'd swallowed down half of it, feeling the coils of warmth spread through him. "I guess toasting to nine fabulous weeks is kind of out now."

"I suppose." Parker stabbed her straw moodily into her drink. "Since we get those nine weeks, but Isabel doesn't." She took another sip of her drink, and huddled further into her jacket. "She gave me Annie to look after."

"Oh." Why it hurt that she hadn't asked him, he didn't know. But it did. "If you need someone to take her..." He trailed off, dropping his head to rest on the bar with a pronounced clunk. "I hate this."

Parker patted him on the head. "Yeah. I keep telling myself she's going to be okay, Max and Michael won't let her get hurt, she's a big girl and can take care of herself." She muttered into her drink. "It doesn't seem to help."

It didn't help because it was a lie, and he knew she knew it. "If they come back with out her, can we kill them?" Jack tipped his head to meet her eyes, not lifting it off the bar.

"If they come back without her, they better be in bodybags," Parker growled. "But they won't." She pouted. "Which wouldn't be consolation."

Rose trudged into the bar covered in soot, dirt and bruises. It was a long day. After stashing the rifle back in her apartment Rose thought she needed a drink to unwind.

Stopped an alien invasion, just like any old part of the job.

Parker was buzzed at this point, but not so buzzed she didn't notice Rose's appearance. "Hey. You're all messy. What's that about?"

"Parker," she said with a tired nod, "Remember when I said I was sort of wishing for an alien invasion so I can stop thinking about my problems?" She paused and gave Parker a wry look, "Guess what happened."

"All those abductions are *your* fault!" Parker said, pointing at her melodramatically. "See, told you not to wish for stuff. Are they gone? Did you punch them?"

Rose groaned, "I know tempting fate!" She never learned, she told the Doctor nothing could ever ever split them up, what happened? Universe split them up. She should learn these things. "More than punched them, shot them to bits." Something hard and cold appeared in Rose's eyes, "Nothing will end this world while I'm here."

"They were trying to end the world? What is their problem?" Parker asked. "That's just unreasonable. And really obnoxious. And yay! Shooting!"

Rose smiled at Parker indulgently, getting her own pint, "Been drinking long, have you?" She shook her head then grinned at Parker, "Tell you what though, flew my first space ship flight alone today!"

John walked in with Bobby and ordered them each a beer from Tino. "I'm glad you're here," he said. "Saves me a trip out to your place."

"It'll be nice to have wheels hunt ready again," John admitted. "But there's something else I want to talk to you about."

Bobby raised an eyebrow. "Something that you can't use the phone or email to talk about?"

John shook his head. "It's something I need to discuss face to face." He gave Bobby a hard look. "And it can't go any further."

"You know I can keep a secret," Bobby said, looking closer at John, getting a sense that this was important. "What is it?"

John took a deep breath. "It's Sam. There's something..." He shook his head. "Something's happening. The last exorcism I did, the demon started making cracks about Sammy. Could just be the usual demon lies, but I can't take that chance. And Sammy's started developing psychic abilities too -- having visions. I just, I don't like the feel of all of this Bobby."
