Empire Records; Monday [ 03/05 ]

Chad opened Empire in an infinately better mood than he'd been in for what felt like a very, very long time. He thought about maybe calling in; it kind of sucked that he had to be at work when Teddy was finally because, but...Teddy was back, and he was back for a good while, too, and even just knowing that it didn't matter that he had to work today, because Ted would still be there only boosted his mood.

If you were paying particular attention, you might even swear that was a smile here and there as he restocked the shelves and rang up customers.

Today's music was a mix of Zeppelin, Cake, the Doors, She Wants Revenge, and Beethoven.

Pippi was in town buying punch and pie for the Dance Club meeting.

She realized that it was Monday.

Monday is 'Bug Chad at Empire' day!

And Chad was actually in a good mood for Bug Chad at Empire day.

"Hey, Pippi," he greeted her; if she looked closely, she's see a smile. "What's up?"

"Monday?"

"I like Monday," Chad decided, with a nod.

"Why for?"

And this is where Chad really couldn't help the dopey little grin on his face for about five seconds before he replied. "'Cause Ted's back."

Awww, that's just too cute.

"Did he have a good trip?"

Chad shook his head. "Not really; more reason to be glad he's back."

Pippi frowned, didn't anybody have a good Spring Break.

"Why?"

To cover his slight, uncomfortable shifting, Chad leaned (carefully) on the counter. He knew Teddy didn't like talking about it, so he wasn't sure what his limitation were on what was okay to mention. "He went away to a war, Pippi..."

Pippi gave that some thought.

Pippi considered some things she'd seen and heard in Heroing class.

Tomorrow was possibly going to be interesting.

"Oh." Pippi said. "But, he's okay?"

Chad nodded. "Yeah," he said, his voice a little rough with the words. "As okay as he can be, anyway."

"Do we need to consider the possibility of people coming here for him?"

"I....don't....think so," Chad, who hadn't considered it before, said slowly. "I...hope not. The war was going on before, too, an' no one did..."

The more it seemed to sink in, the more the thought really started to disturb Chad. No. Something like that wasn't going to happen here. It couldn't. Fandom was supposed to be where Teddy could go to be safe from all that....But if it did happen...Well, Chad would just have to make sure Teddy stayed safe...

"I'm sure it's fine then." Pippi nodded, feeling kind of bad she seems to have upset Chad with the idea. "I just... Let me know if you want or need anything."
