Alamo Day!


True, it wasn't a religious holiday. But it was a great excuse to ressurrect the cowboy costume from Halloween and run around with Chrono in an epic Nerf gun battle around the church. And that's what really mattered, after all.

"Random is a much shorter word for it," Rosette giggled, "so I'm stickin' with that."

"Really?" Rosette chuckled a little. "Where is it at? I...haven't ever been on a space ship before. I've never even been on an aeroplane."

"I think I will, too," Rosette nodded. Because, really, a flying nun? It was like it could be a musical or something.

"Tell me about being a nun," River asked, stretching out on the pew and resting her head on her arm.

Rosette shrugged a little. "Not much to tell about it. It's a lot more boring being a nun here in Fandom than back when I was in New York. I was a part of a special class within the Order, that took care of exorcisms and protections against demons, so I usually got sent out into the city to take care of those things. Didn't have to do all the in-church stuff like confessions and readings like I do here."

There was a thoughtful pause. "Still had to do a lot of cleaning, though. That hasn't changed."

"But there have been demons around here," River said. "They should have used your expertise.

"Cleaning. We did cleaning today in Home Ec." It was a matter of definition of course. Dawn and River had been more into the artistic expression used in spreading dust on the floor.

"I seem to always miss out on some of those adventures," Rosette said with a small smile. "Probably for the best; my supplies here are limited."

She tilted her head back toward River. "What's it like going to a regular school? I was taught at the convent, and the orphanage before that, so I've always wondered what it's like."

"Never been taught in a convent: Don't know what that is like." She could compare with her school on Osiris, and with the Academy of course. She didn't want to think about that. "I go to classes. Listen. Do assignments. Not difficult."
