Caritas, Wednesday Evening [OPEN]

Jarod was spending a lot of the evening with a mop in his hand--the water was starting to seep in under the door frame and whenever the door opened to admit a patron.

In between moppings, he tried to figure out where to take Jaye for their date tomorrow. A picnic was definitely out.

Jack wasn't quite sopping, but he was wet and bedraggled when he walked into Caritas. He would have stayed inside moping, except he needed to talk to Jarod.

Water was dripping slowly off his hair as he sat down at the bar. "Jarod."

"Jack." Jarod handed over a clean bar towel.

"Thank you," he breathed, deeply grateful, and started vigorously towelling his hair dry. Which left it sticking up every which way, and bits of it flopping in his face, but at least cold water wasn't trickling down his neck. "Want it back?" he asked, smiling slightly as he held it out.

Parker came in and shook water off her umbrella in the entry-way, glaring out the window before heading for the bar. "Hey, Jarod. Something hot, please."

"I'm noticing a trend," he said, eyeing her in a mostly platonic way. She looked reasonably healthy, so that was a plus. "Anything in particular in mind? And sweet, or not sweet?"

"Irish coffee?" she asked, shedding her coat and shivering as she took a barstool. "And how are you doing? Isabel said she saw you before she left."

"Hey, Parker." Jack, hair spiky and sticking out, leaned on his elbow as he turned towards her.

"Hey, you." Parker's lips twitched. "Going for the Greggie look in honor of Isabel?"

Xander joined the string of damp folks making their way into Caritas. Though he'd taken an umbrella, at least, there was only so much that could do to keep you dry in weather like this.

He closed it as he walked towards the bar, and waved at Jarod. "Got something hot and sweet back there?"

"With or without alcohol?" Jarod asked, grabbing a mug.

"With. Please." Xander leaned the umbrella against the bar and took a seat on a stool. "It's raining... rain, out there. I don't wanna give it any other ideas."

"Hey, you," Parker said in delight, sliding down the bar to sit next to Xander. "How're you doing?"

"I am wet," Xander told her, to the surprise of no one. She looked wetter. "And I missed Isabel."

Some time after Xander's talk with Parker, his phone rings. Or, well, plays Bridge's ringtone, anyway.

Emma was feeling slightly better, so she went out. After five minutes, she started sneezing, got soaked from the rain and took refuge in Caritas. "Irish coffee, please," she ordered, and sneezed.

"Bless you," Jarod said, handing over a box of tissues and a clean bar towel. A few minutes later, and Emma had a large Irish coffee in a mug in front of her. "Nice night."

Parker saw Emma, and froze up for a moment, before her mental visualizations kicked in; secrets inside secrets inside dolls inside locked boxes. "Miss Frost."
