Caritas, Monday Evening [OPEN]

Jarod arrived early, but was still unprepared for the mess that was Caritas. The lounges were squishy, the stools were everywhere and overturned, the floor was drenched, and all of the glassware was filthy (and possibly containing sea creatures--he hadn't gotten far enough in his cleaning to check).

The alcohol, however, was fine.

So now he was cleaning and mopping and shining and shop-vaccing to get it back up to standard.

Caritas was open. Just damp.

They're not completely thrilled with the situation, but they're playing acoustic tonight so they don't get electrocuted. It makes their hair stand up funny.

Leo strolled in. Most of his own cleaning was done, thought the store was almost without stock.

He needed to get out. And so here he was.

Jarod waved from where he was collecting goldfish in a very large brandy snifter full of water. "Hey. What can I get for you?"

"Hey man." Leo waved back. "Somethin' Tropical." he requested, and promptly became fascinated by the fish.

Jarod dried off a clean glass, then filled it with a Mai tai and a purple umbrella. "How'd you weather the storm?"

"Oh I had a blast man." Leo said. I met this groovy chick from the Agean Sea who helped me out."

"Is she still here, or did she head out with the water?" Jarod asked, "and good, it sounds like it was interesting."

Jaye comes in, but stands by the door for a moment like she's not sure she should brave the perfect storm's aftermath.

"It's less fun than you'd think," he said, taking her seriously. "I heard you were taking pictures in a raft?"

"There was a dolphin show!" she says happily. "And fishpeople throwing fish at the dorms! And some guy was loving himself a giant candy bar!"

Doogie had heard things about Caritas from his housemates. Interesting things. Things that made him decide he needed to investigate this place for himself.

He came in and sat down at the bar, trying to appear nonchalant.

"Good evening," Jarod greeted him, "What can I get for you?"

"Um, I'll just have a beer," Doogie replied. He hoped that request sounded as confident as he wanted it to.

Jarod was amused, but poured a beer and gave it to Doogie. "Are you new to Fandom?"

Doogie made a low, happy noise and pulled the beer towards himself in case Jarod tried to take it away. "I give off an aura of 'Island Newbie' don't I?"

Isabel came in and quietly took a seat at the bar.

"Isabel!" Jarod spotted her from where he was catching salamanders behind the band riser. She was thin, and hadn't been sleeping. Obviously she'd been in a war, and it looked like more damage than a week away could cause. "Can I get you something? Maybe with coconut?"

"That would be perfect," she smiled. "New pets? Or refugeess from the flood?"

"Refugees," he said, carrying the jar over to the bar, then washing his hands. "Virgin pina colada okay?"

Then he remembered he hadn't done something important, and came back around the bar and hugged Isabel, tightly. In his experience, people who left didn't come back, unless they were Parker.
