The Perk, morning

After running with Peter, and stopping by to see Jack, Parker headed into town for coffee and to pick up coffee beans. Just in case Jake needed therapy or a security blanket after being kidnapped.

Enjoying the morning (despite the pollen), Isabel took a walk to town to get coffee before class.

"Morning Parker. Going somewhere interesting?"

"Isabel, hi! And I'm not sure. You heard the Radio?" Parker asked, juggling the coffee bean bag and her mocha. "Could you grab this for a second?"

"Yup," she nodded, taking the bag. "It mentioned Europe. Got room in the suitcase for me?"

Parker smiled wryly. "I wish. It's not a pleasure trip. Keep the details to yourself? But Jake has gone missing in Amsterdam."

"Won't say a word," Isabel promised. "So you're part of the rescue party?"

"Yes. Krycek asked me, Alanna and Kawalsky to go along with him. I think D'Anna's going too. Rory and Mac are doing computer research from here, trying to track him down." Parker sat down, and pinged the bag of coffee beans with her fingernail. "Thus, coffee as consolation when we get him back from wherever."

"Sounds like a competent team," she said, ordering her own mocha. "How long do you think you'll be gone?"

Being in a good mood, River had decided to go for a walk into town. When passing the Perk she noticed Parker through the window, and made a sudden decision to enter, waving happily. "Parker!"

"River, hey. How's it going?" Parker moved the bag of coffee beans over to make room in the booth. "You look well."

River sat down, and waved, trying to get the waitress' attention. "Am well. You look better too."

"I'm ... doing better." Parker was quiet a minute, then asked, "Did Jack tell you about last weekend?"

"Yes and no." River did frown a little. "Withheld the details from me. He rarely does that." She looked at Parker. "Will you tell me?"

Parker sighed. "I don't know them. I know the basics, though." She took a sip of her coffee. "And why did he withhold them from you? Did he say? If it was just trying not to upset you, I'll tell you, but if it ws something else, maybe I shouldn't."

Jarod strolled into the Perk for his afternoon shot of liquid sugar. It was probably best not to ask why he had a handful of cotton balls, a sharpie marker, some googly eyes and a trial size canister of shaving cream with him. "Hey, Parker."

"Hey, you." Parker smiled, and toed a chair sideways toward him. "Pull up a chair. And-- what are the eyes for?" she asked, staring at the canister.

"Rabid cotton balls," he said casually as he sat. "What's up?"

Parker stared. "Do I want to know?"

Jarod chuckled at her, then pulled a glue stick out of his pocket and started gluing the eyes onto the cotton balls. "No, probably not."

Parker snickered, and put a hand over her eyes. "If I hear about those attacking ducks or pushing drinks at Caritas, I'll know who to blame." She took a sip of her coffee, then casually said, "So, I'm leaving for Europe in a couple hours."

Yeah, smooth.

Xander stopped in for a coffee, feeling much more comfortable with venturing out among humans than he had earlier this week, and gave Parker a wave when he saw her. "Hey."

"Hey, Xander. Pull up a chair." Parker tilted her head and took a sip of her mocha. "How are things going?"

"Weirdly. Like usual." Xander took a seat and set down his own coffee. "How about you?"

"Same here. Weirdly and as usual. I'm leaving for Europe in an hour or so." She took a sip of her mocha, and perched her chin on her hand. "Talked to Bridge on Monday night. How are you doing with last weekend?"

Xander tapped at the edge of his cup. "Sounds like he told you more than just 'by the way, got possessed last week."

"He did mention some of the things he -- or the bad guy, rather -- did while he was possessed." She gave Xander a sympathetic look. "Sounded like a lot of horribleness for all concerned."
