Ye old shuttle parking [afternoon]

Anakin loitered in front of the MC apartments sipping coffee as he waited for Rose to arrive for their standing date of flying lessons.

He was looking forward to getting the hell away from Fandom for a few hours.

[OOC: Anakin's here for Rose, of course, but is up for small talking before she arrives. Radio squirrels, due to timezones being the suck, Rose might not ping in before you make your rounds--plz to be reporting they went off together. Mwahaha.]

Rose arrived with a smile, "Anakin, hello."

Anakin grinned back. "Hi! Ready to get the hell off this rock?"

Someone'd had a bad week.

"More than ready, been waiting for this the whole week!"

Anakin finished his coffee and tossed the cup into a nearby trash can. "No food in the shuttle," he said with a grin, leading the way to where it was docked.

"You want to try taking off today?" he asked as they strapped in.

"Is the universe infinite?" Rose asked, she gripped the controls. "C'mon let's get this baby off the ground!"

Anakin strapped in and gave her an excited grin. "Accelation's over there," he said, "in case you've forgotten. If you blow Caritas over, GOB will whine, so let's avoid that."

"How about the port, will anybody get angry if we hit the port?" Rose asked cheekily as she went through the system check just as he'd taught her.

He pretended to mull that over. "I don't think so," he said finally, eyes twinkling, "but I'll cry if you scratch the paint up. You don't want to see that, do you?"

"Aww, but I bet it's cute," she returned, batting her eyelashes at him, then started pulling up. It wasn't the smoothest take offs but, hey, it was her first.

"Ease up a bit on the stick," Anakin said. "It's sensitive. You don't have to yank on it."

Sadly missing any innuendo there, our Anakin.

Rose did not.

"So... you're saying," she said, raising an eyebrow, easing the stick, "Is that I should be gentle with it."

Anakin nodded. "It knows what to do," he said, still oblivous, "it just needs a little nudge."

"And a bit of pull?" She said, entirely saucy now she realized Anakin was oblivious.

Anakin nodded again. "Or else it's all crashes and bumpy rides and unsatisfied everyone," he said.

"We won't want that would we," Rose said, trying very hard to keep a straight face as she steered the ship up and up the atmosphere, "And I never leave anyone unsatisfied."

Now Anakin got it.

Which was why he was bright red. "Excuse me?"

"Your excused," Rose said, smiling slyly as she watched Anakin turn red.

"Just fly the damn thing," Anakin muttered, sliding down in his seat a bit.

Rose saluted smartly, "Aye, aye captain." They broke atmosphere and into the black of space. She grinned widely. "These are the moments when its worth knowing someone like you, Anakin. Can I call Kin?"

"You cannot," Anakin said, but he smiled. "I don't do nicknames."

"But Anakin has so many syllables, look at my name Rose.. just rolls off the tongue that."

"Anakin has three syllables," he said, rolling his eyes as he grinned. "Lazy."

"That's not being lazy, that's just tryin' to be efficient. Cut the time and all," she protested then looked when they approached Mars. "Do you think this Mars has Ice Warriors living there?"

"I haven't heard about any," Anakin said, sounding thoughtful. "Do you want to do a flyby and have a look?"

Rose shrugged, "Can't hurt, could help if they ever think of invading Earth again."
