Chilly Boulder Creamery, Thursday evening

Evie bounced in, then stopped in front of the ice-cream freezer display, humming happily. "Hmm. Something new? Or an old favorite like rainbow sherbet? What's your favorite?" she asked Sokka.

[ooc: for [livejournal.com profile] sarcasm_guy, but open for all your ice-cream needs.]

"Hmm?" Sokka asked, drooling. The ice cream had distracted him from his lady! Bad ice cream! Bad! Except SO, so good... "Hmmm...."

He stepped up to the counter. "I'll have..." He looked around at all the yummy goodness. "A scoop of Raspberry-Lime Sorbet With Chunks of Real Fruit, a scoop of Quadruple Fudge Marshmallow Death By Chocolate, and a scoop of Bubble Gum, in a waffle cone. With caramel topping. And my special lady friend would like...?"

He grinned at Evie, not sure whether to put his Sokkatastic mack on or simper like a puppy dog, and ending up just looking like a dweeb.

"No, you shouldn't. I've got mo-nay now." He smiled at Evie, feeling all cool and stuff, and then smirked at the person behind the counter. "Give her what she asked for, man! The whole everything!"

Sokka turned bright red, and gave her a kiss on the cheek back.

"Yeah," he said, as the server handed him his cone. "But I don't know who. The sheet just said it's an animal." He shrugged. "Maybe another talking cat? I don't know. What about you?"

"Boy's name," Sokka answered definitively, with his mouth full of ice cream.

After Evie had her cone and he had paid, he led her over to a table. "So Blair was your big?" he asked, by way of conversation. "Uh. I haven't really, uh... Talked to Dean at all. Much. I should probably get to know him better, huh?"

Sokka totally wasn't staring at Evie with a glazed look on his face. Not even. Really.

"Uh, yeah. Seems nice. I just haven't... Talked to him all that much? I don't know why. I guess just that I didn't need much help, maybe."

He took a big bite out of his cone. "Dunno about the animal. That's all it said. Big brother, Sokka. Little brother, animal." He shrugged and gave Evie a big smile.

Sokka blushed at the compliment, and puffed his chest up a bit. And dripped some ice cream on his shirt, but he didn't notice it.

"Aw, NICE!" he shouted, and did a chair-dance along with Evie. "I couldn't fit all the stuff I wanted to take, so I'm not in that one. Do you get to keep the treasure you find?"

"I am so jealous," Sokka said, beaming at her.

His breath caught when she patted at his chest. "Uh. Um. Yeah. Uh." He coughed nervously. "I'm sure it'll be fine," he finished smoothly. "The laundry detergent here is SO MUCH BETTER than the soap back home!"

Sokka lunged forward trying to... catch... the ice cream... somehow. Regardless, he missed it and ended up just whacking his stomach on the table. And got his cone smushed between the table and his shirt.

"AAAAGH!"

[identity profile] sarcasm-guy.livejournal.com 2007-05-11 06:50 am (UTC)(link)
Sokka shrugged and wiped a dollop off of his shirt and ate it.

"I'm good," he said.

He smiled at Evie and then looked down at his shirt again. "This, uh... keeps happening to us, doesn't it? Guess we'll just have to get used to it."

"Hey, I'm coordinated!" Sokka protested. "I'm very coordinated!" He waved his arm for emphasis and thwacked his hand on a nearby chair. "Ow."

"Yeah, I'm fine," Sokka said. "Just a bit sticky."

He smirked at Evie. "We should keep doing this a lot, until we can do it without any accidents."
