Maybe it was just the mood his was in from trying to pick up people and be fake drunk in Sex Ed today. Maybe it was the fact that being in cabins sucked because it was impossible for two guys like himself and Teddy to get anything like that done and be discrete about it. Or maybe it was the fact that the remodeling job and the new title of the store kinda made Chad feel like he was working in a throwback sex emporium from the seventies. Rainbow wall and glitter and everything.

Either way, he was extremely distracted today, mind trying to think of what alternative one might have that didn't include someone the next alcove over thinking you might need medical assistance if they were none the wiser.

He...just might be trying to slip out late again. He wondered if he could get away with the Family Emergency sign on the door like last time, in hopes that no one would really think too much on the fact that all his family was, y'know, dead.

Today's Mix: Sex-Blurred Weekend, which, of course, was the only mix he had in his bag today. Go figure.

He's a hormonal teenage boy. And that Blender magazine he was flipping through had such...artistic photoshoots...hmmm...

Charlie came into Pussycat House of Groovy Tunes in between her workshops, and wandered around, admiring the walls and dancing in place a little as she looked for the latest Pink CD. She stopped at the register and smiled brightly at Chad. "Hi! Um. Are you guys looking for help around here?"

Chad nodded to the girl in greeting. "Yeah, I think so. Best I know, I'm...the only remaining employee."

"Oh, cool. Well, not for you. But for me, maybe. Do you have an application I can fill out?" she asked hopefully. "I'm Charlie."

"M'Chad," he smiled at the girl as he introduced himself and then went looking through some of the stuff behind the counter. "Lemme see if we....here we go. Hm. Still says Empire on it, but I don't think that'll matter." He handed the Charlie the application. "Need a pen?"

"I've got one," Charlie said, pulling out a blue Gel writer, then starting to fill out the application. "So this place used to have a different name? When did it change?"

"Last week," Chad said, shifting slightly and leaning (carefully) against the counter as he tried not to think about how cute Charlie was...but she was. "When Melody took over." He nodded toward the green and rainbow walls. "I helped paint those."

He was sure she'd be impressed.

Because when the boss shows up, Chad's totally going to convince the woman to relieve the boy of his misery.

Robin wanted to know what he'd missed in terms of music in the time between when he left the mainland, and Fandom time. So in he came.

Mel wandered in, bopping a little to the beat of the music. "Hi Chad! How was your weekend?"

"Um..." Chad was distracted even by minute bopping right now. "S'all right..." He shifted a little uncomfortably. "What brings ya in, boss?"

Melody shrugged. "I got bored," she said. "And I wanted to see the kittens."

She picked up on his discomfort. "Is everything okay?"

"Ummm...." Chad was going to say that everything was, but then changed his mind, thinking of shirtless and drinks and how they don't necissarily mean ready for sex and boyfriends and cabins and how much they suck (sucked more than any sucking he'd been doing lately, that's for su--). "Um, no. Can I, uhhh...mind if I leave early today?"

Mel thought about it for a minute, since it wasn't really early, it was afternoon, but she knew what he meant. "Go for it," she said. "I'll hang out here until closing. Good luck with ... whatever."

"Aw, sweet, you're awesome, Mel!" Chad said, hopping over the counter and just about giving her a kiss on the cheek for her awesomeness but then stopped, because kissing anyone who wasn't Teddy right now, especially when that someone was your new boss, was a bad idea. So he just sort of did a bow of his head and gave a hurried, "Gracias" before heading out of there like a bat out of hell. He had a boyfriend to find and about a week's worth of sexual tension to relieve...

"Bye." Mel grinned at Chad's departing back before heading behind the counter herself.

Because I like the world where it is and not gebroken. And not enough chances to use this icon.

...no more gluing quarters to the floor.
