The Perk, Saturday Afternoon

"This is where I get all my caffeinated goodness," Summer explained to Pancakes as they walked into the Perk.

Pancakes grinned. "What should I get?"

"Whatever you want," Summer replied. She had her dad's credit card after all. "I'm gonna get a caramel macchiato."

"I'll have one of those, too," Pancakes decided. Summer nodded, ordered their drinks, and wandered back over with two caffeinated beverages.

"It's good," Pancakes said after taking a sip. "When do I get to talk to Shawn?"

"He'll be here soon, I think. I left him a message to meet us," Summer said, taking a sip.

Pancakes smiled brightly. "I want to thank him for purchasing me for you."

Summer nearly choked on her macchiato. Pancakes certainly didn't mean to make it sound like Shawn purchased a hooker. Really.

"Are you all right, Summer?" Pancakes asked, her voice full of concern.

"Yep, fine. All good," she said quickly. "Enjoy your caffeine."

[ooc: Summer and Pancakes are here for Shawn, but anyone else is welcome to chat with them. Or use this for your own Perk needs. :)]

Shawn wandered into the Perk some time after he picked up Summer's message. What better way to spend his Saturday afternoon.

He was a little puzzled when he saw the other girl with her, but ordered himself a hot chocolate and headed over. "Heey, Summer," he said, giving a smile and a nod of greeting to the unfamiliar girl. "And, friend."

"Uh, hi." Shawn glanced at Summer in confusion. Wow, he was way worse at remembering faces than he thought. He smiled at the other girl, then leaned in a little closer to Summer.

He lowered his voice a little, not that it probably helped much. "" he asked.

Okay, that? So didn't help his 'buh'-ing.

Actually, probably made it worse. "I... what?"

Chris came in to the Perk, desperately needing caffeine. He had come in late the night before and completely managed to miss the fact that there was an extra person in the room. And Summer had been gone by the time he'd woken up, so he still didn't know what she'd done.

"Hey, Summer. Shawn. New girl," he greeted, sitting down with them after he'd gotten his extra large coffee. "I'm Chris."

"So this is like when you guys randomly turned into small children? Or when our future alternate universe daughter showed up?" Chris asked, tilting his head to study Pancakes.

"I thought you were a boy."

Shawn raised a hand in a manly sort of wave. "Afternoon, man," he greeted.

"How's it going?" Chris asked, rubbing his temples after finding out who Summer's new friend was.

[identity profile] justmisplaced.livejournal.com 2007-06-09 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
"Uhh." Shawn shrugged, glancing over at the girls. "Interesting day," he remarked.

[identity profile] neurotic-witch.livejournal.com 2007-06-09 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Chris nodded. "Uh huh. Never a dull moment in this place."

"Chris!" Proudfoot saw him when she came in and pounced - not quite landing in his lap, but certainly rubbing herself against him.

[identity profile] livingasheth.livejournal.com 2007-06-09 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
"Mmmm..." Proudfoot said, almost purring as she rubbed her cheek against him. "I'm so happy to see you!"

[identity profile] neurotic-witch.livejournal.com 2007-06-09 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
"Okay," Chris said, still ready to flail. "Um... so I know you?"

It didn't occur to him that this was another animal turned human.

Yitzhak wasn't at the Perk to get himself any coffee. He was at the Perk because he could have sworn one of the baristas had been giving him dirty looks the other day, and now he had a score to settle. Oh yes.

He was currently camped out in the corner, pretending to be absorbed in the latest issue of Marie Claire, while he plotted his revenge.

Yitzhak gave her a long, impassive look of the sort designed to not let on that he was madly envious of her cheekbones. Finally, he nodded once.

You'd think someone who looked like Yitzhak would be ashamed of reading women's fashion magazines.

While that might be true in the abstract, this was Yitzhak. Who nonchalantly handed the magazine over to her, clearing his throat as if to say that she'd better give it back when she was done, and not a wrinkle on any of the fashion pages.
