Movie Sign Theater 3000, Saturday Evening

Now Showing:

Buccaneers of the Sea Not Entirely Unlike the Caribbean: End of the Earth

In this explosive Trilogy finale, the Buccaneers face their greatest challenge yet with even more characters than ever before.

John led Abigail up to the theater, checking out the marquee.  "I hope you've seen the first two, or this might spoil you for them," he said with a grin.

[ooc: Film is obviously  Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.  Thread between John and Abigail locked to them, but okay for broadcast.  Theater is here for all your viewing needs.]

"I did manage to catch the first two," Abigail said to John. "The cast is kind of too pretty to ignore."

[identity profile] solowhistler.livejournal.com 2007-06-17 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
"Some of the acting could definitely be improved. I'm just hoping this one makes more sense than the last one. That would be nice."

[identity profile] solowhistler.livejournal.com 2007-06-17 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
"It's only fun if you get to try to figure out how the movie could make sense," Abigail said. "Like those really bad horror flicks with plot holes you could drive a car through."

[identity profile] solowhistler.livejournal.com 2007-06-17 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
"You do that too?" Abigail asked, laughing. "I remember one time, my dad's TV got messed up, and everything was in Spanish for like a week until we got it fixed. It made watching movies and game shows a lot more fun."

[identity profile] solowhistler.livejournal.com 2007-06-17 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Abigail grinned at John. "Sure, I'd love some."

[identity profile] solowhistler.livejournal.com 2007-06-17 06:16 pm (UTC)(link)
"Sure, but if we're getting drinks, I'll pay for them." That's how she thought dates were supposed to work, at least.

[identity profile] solowhistler.livejournal.com 2007-06-17 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"Excellent," Abigail said, joining him at the concession stand. The date had only just started and he was already winning brownie points. This was going better than she'd expected.

Something about that statement made Abigail grin. She ordered their drinks, and then stepped out of the way, taking a sip of her soda to keep from saying something undoubtedly stupid in reply.

[identity profile] solowhistler.livejournal.com 2007-06-17 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
"Maybe somewhere towards the middle?" she suggested. "Is there anywhere where you'll have trouble seeing?"

[identity profile] solowhistler.livejournal.com 2007-06-17 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh, are you planning on being a pilot some day?" she asked, picking a row towards the middle and leading John to a pair of seats.

[identity profile] solowhistler.livejournal.com 2007-06-17 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
"Seriously? That's awesome," Abigail replied. "Do you have family in the military, or is this a decision you came to all on your own?"

[identity profile] solowhistler.livejournal.com 2007-06-17 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Abigail smirked. "Will you laugh at me if I tell you I've never been on a plane before?"

[identity profile] solowhistler.livejournal.com 2007-06-17 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
"Not really, no. All the traveling I've done has either been on foot, or by car. Planes just seem so...easy to crash," she admitted.

[identity profile] solowhistler.livejournal.com 2007-06-18 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
"Don't you have to have some kind of flying experience before taking that class? And I've heard the teacher's kind of scary."

[identity profile] solowhistler.livejournal.com 2007-06-18 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
"Hmm. Well, I'll have to keep that class in mind then," she said. "I have to say, it's really cool that they have so many classes here in things we're actually interested in."

[identity profile] solowhistler.livejournal.com 2007-06-18 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
"Uh, Firearms, How to Blow Things Up, and Building a Better Fighter. All useful topics, I assure you."

[identity profile] solowhistler.livejournal.com 2007-06-18 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
"I know! How awesome were those AK47s?" she said, with perhaps more glee than a normal girl should have.

[identity profile] solowhistler.livejournal.com 2007-06-18 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
"I was a little too nervous to try that one, but it looked like so much fun," Abigail said, laughing. "You could take out a serious amount of bad guys with one of those things."

[identity profile] solowhistler.livejournal.com 2007-06-18 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
Abigail thought about how much she could tell John, and realized that if he hadn't run screaming from Fandom, he might not be totally freaked out by some of the truth. "Sometimes. That's sort of why I'm here," she said. "I'm learning how to be a better vampire hunter, like my dad."

[identity profile] solowhistler.livejournal.com 2007-06-18 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
"No, weirdly enough. I've talked to her and Buffy, and I think we come from two different places that just happen to have vampires." She smirked softly. "I'm going to take a wild guess and say that you don't have a vampire problem where you're from."

[identity profile] solowhistler.livejournal.com 2007-06-18 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
"Really?" Abigail smiled broadly, blushing a little. "No one's ever called it fascinating before."

[identity profile] solowhistler.livejournal.com 2007-06-18 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
Abigail shook her head a little, but didn't break the eye contact. "Oh no, interest is much, much better."

Barbossa was in the back of the theater with a giant thing of popcorn, an even bigger bottle of rum and a huge grin on his face.

God, he loved these movies. They were just so inaccurate.

Stan was there, giant bucket o' popcorn, giant frozen cola. Oh, he'd be having a sugar high right when the movie started sucking, but that's the best part.
