Caritas, Monday Evening

Given the chance at an extra shift, Ellen was quite happy to come in Monday night as well.

She taped up the zombies and then slipped behind the bar, ready to take (drink) orders.

So we don't fall out of the bar. Unless you hit someone.

So what does an incredibly emo witch do when she has already done something stupid and feels like everything is crashing down around her? She goes to Caritas.

Phoebe took a seat at the bar. "Hey, Ellen," she said quietly. "Can I get a margarita, please?"

"Sure, hon," Ellen said, mixing the drink easily and setting it down with a sunny yellow umbrella in it. "You got something on your mind?"

Phoebe gave her a faint smile. "Thanks, Ellen." She ran a hand through her hair. "Have you ever done something incredibly stupid that you regret?"

Fraser found his way to Caritas ~~because I can't resist~~ and smiled politely when he saw Ellen behind the bar.

"Doing double shifts now?"

Ellen smiled ruefully. "I think most people have done at least one of those, myself included."

Ellen paused a moment before replying, smiling back. "Sure. It's good money, I see a different crowd," she gave Fraser a pointed look. "No reason not to."

Phoebe took a drink of her margarita. "I hate it when things I do hurt other people and people I care about."

"Indeed," he said, taking a seat. "How are you this evening?"

"Don't we all," Ellen said softly. "You want to talk about it, hon?"

Phoebe bit her lip. "How do you feel about good witches who occassionally do really stupid things?"

"Good, thanks," she said warmly. "How about you? Need a drink or just want one?"

"Sure," he said, nodding. "I'm off duty, I think I'm allowed. Whatever's good tonight."

"That everyone's allowed to make mistakes sometimes," she said, after a moment. "But that means being held accountable for them, just like everyone else."

Ellen eyed Fraser a moment, then nodded. "All right." She mixed him a quick Black Russian (http://drinkoftheweek.com/archive/b/blackrussian.htm) and slid it across to him with a slight quirk of the lips. "So, who was it you were proposing dinner to, Officer?"

"I have no qualms about being held accountable when I screw up," Phoebe agreed. "And boy did I screw up. I cast a spell on... my boyfriend," she sighed and then drank half of her drink.

Ellen arched an eyebrow. "What kind of spell?"

The glass stopped halfway to his mouth and he carefully and deliberately set it down.

"Well." He blinked. "I don't even remember. That message ended up with you, I take it?"

This would be where Phoebe looked even more miserable. "One that got him to be honest with us about his feelings and talk to us." She downed the rest of the drink. "I told him what I did... and he is understandably pissed off and not talking to me. And yes, I know I deserve it. I screwed up but good."

Taking a seat at the bar, Setsuna waited to meet with Ami. Her first instinct was to order herself a little bit of sake but, after a second or third thought, she changed her mind and went with just a glass of water as a better choice. That wouldn't get complaints from her roommate.

"It did," she confirmed. "Not that I minded, but it was a little confusing. A little less so than being called a hag and asked for beef instead of chicken, but still there."

Ellen shook her head slowly. "Sweetie, you not only screwed up, you're lucky he's not gone," she said. "What would ever make you think that's a good idea?"
