Turtle & Canary; Tuesday [ 06/26 ]

Feeling really icky and tired like you do after a day where you were just way too emotional, Turtle was trying to suck down coffee as best she could (a whole pack of sugar was sitting beside Cube on the counter, constantly being added to the nasty, nasty coffee with the hopes that Turtle didn't accidentally put the goo from Cube's tank in instead of the sugar, but even that would have been an improvement). She also was playing with Liz a lot more than she usually did, but, unfortunately, while a robot dog could play fetch and bring you thinks, it wasn't very good with cuddling, and a cuddly, fluffy puppy would be nice right about now.

The glittery "Help Wanted" sign was still in the window.

Today's Squishy Flavors: Pork, Lamb, Red

Sokka stopped in for a pork Squishy and put a bundle of small bills on the counter. "More money to invest," he said happily. "How are my stocks doing, any -- MMMMmmm!! This is GOOD!" He thrust the Squishy at Turtle. "Have you tried this?!?!? It's full of meaty goodness!!!"

"Ughh," Turtle's nose wrinkled and her eyes regarded Sokka like he didn't have skin on his face or something. "Did you seriously get the pork? Or is that the lamb?"

Sure as heck wasn't Red...

Oooh, money! Turtle got distracted from her disgust for a bit. "They're doing okay. Market's rough right now, but you haven't lost anything overall yet. Want me to whip up a status report for you? I can have it tomorrow."

Sokka blinked at her. "Pork! It's AWESOME. Sure you don't want to try it? It's good!"

And he shrugged. "Nah, no report. I probably wouldn't really understand it anyway. But the stocks are gonna get better, right? I'm trusting you with my money, here."

"And you've got nothing to worry about, Sokka," Turtle assured him. "I know what I'm doing. You have to have patience sometimes for the market. Can't go with a trigger response and sometimes that right moment to sell takes a while to show up. Meanwhile, I prefer my pork in a solid state, and not some undefined in-between state of being." Her nose wrinkled again, but, hey, at least someone was buying the stuff.

Sokka nodded. "Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Yep. Trigger response. Totally got that. So long as you know what you're doing."

And then he glared at her. "It's NOT undefined! It's frozen pork juice! And it's really GOOOD."

"It's not frozen," Turtle argued. "It's some....middle-ground. Part frozen, part liquid. It's....Squishy."

"MMMmmmm... Squishy."

Turtle smirked. "Dork. You should try the Lamb, too."

Just trying to make a better sale? Nahhhhhh.

Who the heck comes up with these Squishy flavors.??

...oh. Wait...

Lamb Squishy might go very nicely with some mint jelly.
