Caritas, Tuesday, June 26

Jaina had no problem taking an extra shift this week, so she arrived early at Caritas to set up. And she might have finished early.

However, that did not give her an opportunity to teach the zombies any Corellian drinking songs, no it did not. Nope.

Robin took the stage with his banjo. "Hi everybody!" he waved. "My dad really likes this song;"

"In 1814 we took a little trip,
Along with colonel jackson down the mighty mississip.
We took a little bacon and we took a little beans,
And we fought the bloody british in the town of new orleans.

We fired our guns and the british kept a comin’,
There wasn’t ’bout as many as there was awhile ago.
We fired once more and they began to runnin’
On down the mississippi to the gulf of mexico.

Oh we looked down the river and we seen the british come.
There must have been a hundred of ’em beatin’ on a drum.
They stepped so high and they made their bugles ring.
We stood behind our cotton bales and didn?t say a thing.

Old hickory said we could take ’em by surprise,
If we didn?t fire our muskets till we looked ’em in the eyes.
We held our fire till we seen their faces well,
Then we opened up our squirrel guns and gave ’em a little...well....we...

....fired our guns and the british kept a comin’,
There wasn’t ’bout as many as there was awhile ago.
We fired once more and they began to runnin’
On down the mississippi to the gulf of mexico.

*banjo solo*

We fired our cannons till the barrels melted down,
Then we grabbed an alligator and we fired another round.
We filled his head with cannonballs and powdered his behind,
And when we touched the powder off, the gator lost his mind.

We fired our guns and the british kept a comin’,
There wasn’t ’bout as many as there was awhile ago.
We fired once more and they began to runnin’
On down the mississippi to the gulf of mexico.

We fired our guns and the british kept a comin’,
There wasn’t ’bout as many as there was awhile ago.
We fired once more and they began to runnin’
On down the mississippi to the gulf of mexico.

Robin once again had his banjo with him when he came into Caritas.

"I hope to yeah." Robin said. "I played something last night and it was a lot of fun. Do you have any requests?"

"Well then hopefully you'll like what I sing." Robin said cheerfully. "I'd love to hear songs from where you're from."

Re: The Bar

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2007-06-27 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
"I'll do that. Do they know the words?"

Re: The Bar

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2007-06-27 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
"That makes sense, cause, wasn't sure if they still had tongues."

Robin shuddered a bit. "You know what neither am I. Can I have some apple juice please?"

"Thank you." he beamed, and sipped the juice. Mmm, apple.

Vala decided to check out the local drinking establishment. Hmmm. Nice decor, lots of room, well-stocked bar.

"The band is dead, but I've seen worse," she remarked as she perched on one of the bar stools.

"Sure," she nodded, "And...whatever gives me the most inebriation for the least amount of money."

Re: The Bar

[identity profile] spacepiratevala.livejournal.com 2007-06-27 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
"Absolutely." Another nod. "What's Everclear? And nice place you've got here."

Re: The Bar

[identity profile] spacepiratevala.livejournal.com 2007-06-27 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh? What's wrong with your boss?" Vala figured she might as well be polite to the bartender. She tossed back a shot of the Everclear. "Nice. Had some homemade swill like that once--used it to strip the paint off a ship, too."

Re: The Bar

"Sometimes it's better than the water," Vala pointed out.

"Same galaxy, different star system," Vala explained. "Hygenics are sometimes a problem."

Re: The Bar

[identity profile] spacepiratevala.livejournal.com 2007-06-27 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
"You have no idea," Vala leaned back a bit on her stool. "You don't seem thrown by the different star system thing. Local, or from out of town?"

Re: The Bar

[identity profile] spacepiratevala.livejournal.com 2007-06-27 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
"Doesn't that get confusing?" Vala motioned for a refill.

Re: The Bar

[identity profile] spacepiratevala.livejournal.com 2007-06-27 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
She sipped this shot more slowly as she thought. "I heard about something like that happening once, but it was really about a husband who slept with three sisters, and well, it wasn't really much like what you're going through at all when you think about it."

Re: The Bar

[identity profile] spacepiratevala.livejournal.com 2007-06-27 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
"Happy to help," Vala beamed, leaving more than enough money on the bar to pay for her drinks and a healthy tip for Jaina. It wasn't her money, what did she care? "Have a nice night...er, I don't think I got your name."

Re: The Bar

[identity profile] spacepiratevala.livejournal.com 2007-06-27 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
"Vala Mal Doran," she replied. "I teach up at the school."

Re: The Bar

[identity profile] spacepiratevala.livejournal.com 2007-06-27 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
"Maybe." Vala waved goodbye over her shoulder as she walked out.
