Someone told Mary that the chef at the school was on vacation this week. The restaurant still wasn't open yet, but she thought they could make an exception for hungry students. It would give Gunther another chance to come up with more kid-friendly food anyway.

"Gunther, you'd better not be serving beer to teenagers!" yelled Mary. She didn't need more drunk teenage boys trying to kiss her. Even if said teenage boy reminded her of Danny McCoy and she kept wondering what would have happened if she had let him kiss her. She should not be thinking about that at all. Mary tried to push all thoughts of kissing out of her head and concentrated on planning her birthday party.

Anders had been on his way to Ching Tai to pick up lunch for Bel, but he couldn't say no to free food. It sounded pretty good, anyway, to a kid from another planet, so he got a couple of orders of some of everything. Whee!

"Hey Man!" Leo waved cheerfully.

"Hi Leo," said Mary. "What brings you in today?"

"I just wanted to let you know I got your message Man." he nodded. "What do you want for your birthday?"

"Honestly? I'll be happy just to have lots of people around to celebrate with me," said Mary. What she wanted most was to have her friends and family from Las Vegas with her on her birthday, but that wouldn't be possible.

"Well I think I can do that." he nodded thoughtfully. "It might ruin the surprise though."

"That's okay. I'm not big on surprises," said Mary.

"That's cool then Man. So what sort of shindig is this gonna be?"

"I'm hoping it will be the biggest party that Fandom has ever seen," said Mary with a huge smile. "I used to plan events for other people, so this is fun planning something for myself."

"Oh far out Man!" Leo said enthusiastically. "You want me to take pictures?"

"That would be fantastic if you could," said Mary. "There are some people who are really important to me that won't be able to be there and I'd love to be able to send them some pictures."

"I can totally do that then." Leo assured her. "I run the Photo Hut so I can even develop them for you."

"Even better," said Mary. "Thank you so much. You don't know what this means to me."

"Happy birthday."
