Turtle & Canary; Wednesday [ 06/27 ]

Turtle yawned and stretched a little as she opened the shop and settled behind the counter for another days work; all that coffee yesterday didn't really help her get much sleep last night. So she barely even noticed how crappy it tasted as she kicked up her legs, tilted her chair back, and shifted through the Wall Street Journal.

Today's Squishy flavors: Tab, Mr. Pib, Red.

Sometime during the day, a big bouquet of flowers (http://www.ftd.com/2675/catalog/product.epl?product_id=FVP5&index_id=product_flowers_seasonal) was delivered to Turtle. The attached card read:

Turtle,

Just as you can imagine, this is not easy for me. But you need to know that this pettiness between us has got to stop. Believe me when I tell you that I am truly sorry for everything. For your braid, for my hateful words, for the potatoes...It was immature of me and I cannot go on acting like this. It eats at me when I am alone and I regret all that I have done in dislike towards you. My first apology was sincere, this one is even more so and more grounded. I hope you believe that. If you wish to avoid me completely, I understand.

I just wanted you to know that I am really sorry, okay?

It was weird enough that some delivery guy showed up with flowers that were apparently for her (she had half a mind to think that he got proper-noun Turtle mixed up with one of the regular-noun turtles), but, nope, there was a Wexler involved in there, too, and she was pretty sure she was the only one of of those around here.

And then nearly choked on the sugar in her coffee when she read the note.

Check for bees. Check the flowers for bees.

No bees.

....Well, this was...interesting...

She stared at those flowers a lot.

In a couple hours, I have a job interview (YAY!), and then I have a two hour commute to settle things my old apartment downstate, so, unless you get me before I leave for the interview (YAY!), no real pings from me until later today.

Craziness. Best thing about having to go down state is I'll get to visit my favourite coffee shop on my way back up. Best coffee ever, I swear. I can't wait. XD
