J,GOB - Thursday after lunch

Giving up breakfast and lunch for the yumminess that was pie, was always a good thing in Annette's book. Plus, she was not able to eat her pie with John the other afternoon and felt she could certaintly do much better today.

Walking in before Andrew, she glanced over her shoulder at him, grinning, "Welcome to J,GOB's. Doesn't it smell yummy in here?"

(Annette is here with Andrew and thread locked to them please. Otherwise, J'GOB's is open, of course!)

Andrew closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "This is going to be so good. I might have to up my slice count the three."

Andrew's eyes went wide with the selection. "I'm going to have to go with a slice of the pecan and some chocolate milk to wash it down. Thank you so much for this!"

Andrew also took a big bite of pie. He was savoring it until Annette asked him if he had a girlfriend, at which point he choked a little, sputtering pie crumbs all over the table. "Um. Oh, sorry. Went down the wrong pipe." Andrew took a napkin and tried to clean up a little. "No, I'm single. Waiting for the right hot chickadee to come along and sweep me off my feet." Andrew paused and just swung his fork over his slice of pie.

"Here? Me? Met someone?" Andrew seemed to be concentrate really hard. "No. Nope. No one has captured my fanciness." Deep breath and moving on, "Um. In Sunnydale, I live with my aunt and my brother, Tucker. Tucker is my only sibling. He's older than I am. My aunt had a cat, but that was lost in a tragic incident. And I'm a junior." He nodded, very mater of fact like.

"Oh!" Andrew exclaimed, "And I got a job. Mr. Stiles, er, Giles at the Magic Box hired me on. Sounds like I'm basically going to run the place. Poor guy, he's too British to run a business in America. He had to have a frog help him set up his Fourth of July display." Andrew was clearly excited.

"I haven't really exchanged names with the little frog man, but if there isn't more than one around here, then that was probably him. Very friendly and good with the arranging of sparklers."

Andrew scratched his head. "Not so much magic, no. I do dabble a little theoretical mystical physics - the transference of matter from one plane or dimension to another. And I love, love learning ancient demonic languages and scripts. They can be pretty useful in a tight spot."

Andrew leaned forward as well and whispered, "I've dealt with a couple of demons and demonic animals. Nothing too serious. Yet. I hope to learn how to summon some of the really powerful ones and get them to do stuff like feed me grapes. So how about you? Are you a summoner? Have you ever used a didgeridoo? I find that the use of one can really help concentrate the mystical forces."

Andrew quite enjoyed this semi-veiled way of talking. He glanced around, guiltily, and whispered back, "I can't imagine what it would be like to be possessed by a demonic spirit like that. I've read that it can give you great powers and cause horrible indigestion. And I've yet to meet a demon I would consider trustworthy, but they can often be very sweet. Who is this Dick? And a didgeridoo is an Australian tribal instrument about yay long," Andrew spread his hands about three feet apart, "and about four to five inches in diameter. It's oddly comforting to hold and blow on. I have one in my room." He took a large swing of chocolate milk.

"Oh, I've heard about this Bel guy. Isabel told me I could probably meet him at the construction sight. I need to remember to make it over there and see if I can spot him. And demons usually need a high caloric intake anyway, so you could probably eat all the pie you wanted. And that's great about the boyfriend! Breaking up would have really sucked after five months. I'm glad you guys worked things out. And of course you can stop by and play with my didgeridoo any time. Bring Dick, he can blow on it too."
Andrew smiled.

"It just makes a cool noise, kind of like," Andrew did his best didgeridoo impression. "I mean, it won't summon up a demon just by playing it. You have to have the right incantations and diagrams, candles, incense - there's a lot involved in that. I've also got a pan flute. We can jam out."

"Sure!" Andrew paused. "Well, it might be a little while before I can summon anything. I need a few supplies and Mr. Giles won't sell them to me just yet. Something about my brother being a rank amateur. But it's all good, because he is going to help me learn some of the real powerful stuff." Andrew scraped the last of his pie off the plate with his fork and stuck it in his mouth. "Ammmmmmazing."

She had a point. There wouldn't be any harm in summoning some minor demons. Andrew thought this over. "Maybe I will check out this Turtle and Canary place. Thanks again for the pie."

"Yeah. All this talk about didgeridoos makes me want to go back and play with mine." Andrew pushed his plate back and patted his stomach, content.
