Turtle & Canary; Friday [ 07/06 ]

After dropping off her things back at the dorm, Turtle went into the shop to wait for Bart to come in for his training. "Awesome, Apu, the place didn't burn down!" she laughed. "Thanks for watching everything for me." She got comfortable behind the counter, working on interest figures for the two hundred million dollars she now had sitting in an account to get even fatter for college, and figuring out things for taxes. She was, after all, in a whole new bracket. Plus? It was so much fun dealing with things like that!

The glittery "Help Wanted" sign was still in the window.

Today's Squishy flavors: Green, Moolah, Red.

Turtle & Canary is open.

Or maybe she might sic Bart on you once he's trained and ready.

Marco peered into Turtle and Canary and seeing Turtle there, walked in. "Back from...wherever?"

"From home," Turtle said with a snort and a grin. "Good old Westingtown, Wisconsin. You noticed I was gone?"

"There was no one to annoy." Marco dead-panned. "This is my first time anywhere more east then Las Vegas so I'm just going to pretend to know where that is."

"It's a little hole in the wall by Lake Michigan, so I'm not surprised you don't," Turtle said, shrugging. "Only thing to put it on the map is Westing Paper Products. And, well, me, once I'm even more of a hotshot in the business world."

She paused, to give him an especially doubtful look. "And I don't buy that for a moment, Marco. There are plenty of people around here to annoy."

"But you're my favorite person to annoy." Marco whinned. "And I've never heard of Westing Paper Products, but you've probably never heard of Riverside. Which does not have a river anywhere near it."

"Never heard of...!" Turtle sounded scandalized, but not too scandalized, because ha, ha favorite. "Marco, we well them all over the store. I own major stock in Westing Paper Products, so, yeah, you've probably used them all the time at everyone's parties and stuff. You should be more market conscious."

Marco looked at Turtle as if she'd grown a second head. "And for my next trick, I'll actually do something with my money other then spend it."

Silly boy, shouldn't say such things. Turtle looked at Marco like it was Christmas. "Like invest?" she asked, brightly, eyes wide with an almost frightening eagerness. "You know I can help with that! I'm already aiding Sokka in his investments and he's already had a 2.7 increase in total profits, that's including the recent drop in prices!"

Marco blinked. A lot. "Turtle? I have no money and everyone thinks I'm dead back home."

"That's the perfect time to invest!"

Or masquerade as someone else in an effort to find out who to give your inheritance to, hum hum.

"When everyone thinks I'm dead?" Marco asked, kinda confused.

"No, when you have no money, because then you have nothing to lose."

"Well, I have some money....And there's still the whole "Dead" thing."

Turtle waved a dismissive hand. "After working as Sokka's broker and helping Rikku with some of her finances, I'm becoming a little bit of an expert in finding loopholes around things like other worlds, different species, being dead. In fact, I know an expert in working the legal loopholes around being supposedly dead and managing estates."

"...Turtle? If people at home find out that me and my parents aren't dead? We die, and so does a lot of the human race." Marco paused. "Why have you become an expert on supposedly deadness?"

"Kind of a long story," Turtle said, shifting slightly with a wrinkled nose. She knew Sandy kind of wanted to keep it on the downlow. She knew Sandy kind of had to keep it on the downlow.

I worked today!

Hopefully, Bart's training is more effective than my training. XD But I did get to put up a cool sandal display.

Also, busy evening, so if i get dragged away and don't ping much, blame Optimus Prime, Doctor Who, Joel McHale, and Ben & Jerry, in that order.

How dare you have a life outside of Fandom! FOR SHAME.
