Groovy Tunes, Saturday
Flopsy, Mopsy and Cottontail were playing on their own in the store window today. Charlie wasn't even writing. Just leaning on the counter with her eyes closed, experiencing the joy of her Very First Hangover. Made worse by the horrible, horrible suspicion that she'd said something very stupid to Dean last night. The singing had been bad enough, but then she'd been kind of incoherently confiding after that. If she'd known about the Radio broadcast, she would have felt even worse. So she hadn't really been paying attention to her surroundings when she headed in to work. Weird big bird in the sky, though.
Groovy Tunes was open. Playing very soft New Age music.

Talk to Charlie
Re: Talk to Charlie
Okay, no they didn't.
But he smelled other cats and decided to investigate.
With big sharp teeth.
Re: Talk to Charlie
Re: Talk to Charlie
Mmm. Lunch.
Re: Talk to Charlie
Ohmigod ohmigod ohmigod there's a tiger a great big tiger with fangs oh my GOD
She might have squeaked, and ducked down behind the counter.
Re: Talk to Charlie
Naturally the giant kitty leaped towards it.
Re: Talk to Charlie
Only the display was just out of reach, so instead she reached with her mind, wildly throwing the entire case in the direction of the sabre-tooth.
The very end of the counter started to smoke.
Re: Talk to Charlie
He tried one, just to be sure they weren't food.
"The Best of Yanni" tasted just as bad as it looked.
He let out a very annoyed snarl.
Re: Talk to Charlie
It was too big to move, but it did give a shudder, rocking on its legs, as Charlie crawled sideways and then scrambled to her feet and started to run for the edge of the counter.
Re: Talk to Charlie
He yowled and swiped his claws down on the problem.
Oooh. No more corner. Problem solved.
Back to trying to eat lunch.
Re: Talk to Charlie
Her back hit the wall.
Oh, no.
Re: Talk to Charlie
The tiger licked his lips, crouched down and sprang.
Lunch!
Re: Talk to Charlie
It leaped out, undirected and hot, seeking anything to feed on, igniting the posters above her head as she threw herself to the floor.

Re: Talk to Charlie
The sprinklers above the register burst into life, the smoke from the blazing posters finally setting them off, and Charlie got up on shaky hands and knees, pushing another blast of heat at the tiger, looking around frantically for the kittens. Another rack of CD's went up in flames, and were immediately doused. Stupid stupid She grabbed her bag, and picked up a crying Cottontail and Mopsy, stuffing them in it as she ran toward the door.
Re: Talk to Charlie
He pounced, he ate, he took a nap, he moved on. That was the plan.
This was not going according to plan.
He let out a shriek of outrage.
Re: Talk to Charlie
Melody could take any damage out of her paycheck.
Re: Talk to Charlie
And eating all the candy.
Play with the kittens, listen to CD's
