Fandom Post Office - Wednesday

Katara had a plan for getting into the post office without attracting Not Tiddles' attention.

Or rather a plan to distract the demon cat.  That might have been more accurate.

She poked her head in the door and threw a glittery pompon right passed Not Tiddles face.

The cat immediately jumped up and raced after it in a way most unbecoming to its dignity.

Katara grinned and entered the post office properly.

This day was working out well.

Naminé was wandering downtown on her day off and noticed Katara at the post office. "Hello," she called out with a smile, stepping inside. "I'm stopping in just to pester you at work, is that all right?"

"Not Tiddles?" Naminé asked curiously. "Has he an evil twin of some kind? Or is he perhaps the evil twin?"

"And I just realized now I forgot to tell you. That letter I sent, with nothing at all with a name?" She beamed.

"Oh, my," Naminé said. "I thought most cats were rather pleasant creatures. Perhaps you could try asking the Creatures of Nature professor for advice; he owns the pet shop in town."

And then she smiled, almost nervously. "I got a reply. He's well and was glad to hear that I am, too, and ... I think he's better than he was, if that makes any sense."

"Not at all," she smiled. "I hope it works. You can't manage to mail your friend? I'm terribly sorry to hear that. It was very good to hear from Riku, even just know that he's still out there and all right and all of that."

Naminé flushed lightly, and then added, even more hesitantly, "And I think this post office was responsible for bringing someone back from some sort of void."

"Oh, I'm terribly sorry to hear that," said Naminé with a sympathetic frown. "And especially for raising a difficult subject. Perhaps he's somewhere where it might expose himself to write back. I wondered if I would get a reply for that reason. If that's the case, then he's still grateful to have your words as company, I'm sure."

"For the other, I'm not certain at all how it worked, except I'd given up hope of reaching someone. I couldn't portal to him and there was no word at all, and then I remembered the sketch of Riku. So I drew one of - not him, but an important memory?" She bit her lip. "I can ... alter memories, sometimes, with sketches, but I thought it was only in some cases, so perhaps it wasn't me at all. I wrote his name on the sketch and your brother placed it in the Sorting Machine and a few hours later he knocked on my door. Not your brother, the person I'd mailed."
