The Perk - Thursday Early Afternoon

After his initial meeting with the new Dean Umbridge Wilson was left with the strong desire to drink.

Unfortunately none of the bars were open -damn it Lucifer!- and so he was going to have to make do with a very strong espresso coffee.

Thus, he headed for the Perk, made his order and carried it over to a set of chairs by a window. Wearing a perplexed expression, he sipped on the strong beverage and tried to puzzle out if it was just him or if Umbridge was really as ... shall we say, prickly as she appeared.

[ooc: Perk is open for anyone else with the need for strong coffee after hearing about or talking to Umbridge. Or just open for your caffinating needs! :)]

Aziraphale was well aware that Wilson was going for a visit with the new acting principal -- he'd made the cookies, after all. But when Wilson didn't come back home again in what he'd have considered a timely manner, the angel started to wonder why.

Luckily, his instincts where the young doctor was concerned were pretty finely honed by now, and before flying into a panic, he headed over to poke his nose into the Perk.

Aha! Target acquired. He walked over and pulled himself up a seat, and then took notice of the look on Wilson's face.

"Er...?"

Oh, this didn't bode well. Aziraphale raised an eyebrow, then flicked his fingers at the little cup in his lover's hand.

"Do you need something more than espresso?" he asked, wondering if he ought to get himself a cup of tea. It sounded as though this was a tea sort of situation.

Or possibly a whiskey sort of situation.

Well, pink was...definitely not Zoe. But Aziraphale wasn't sure he was ready to be offended by the color quite yet. Although the 'very' in Wilson's phrasing made it a definite possibility in the near future.

"Plates...of kittens...on the walls..."

The image that came to the angel's mind was perhaps not the intended one. Although it was also perhaps not entirely inappropriate. "Are they made from real kittens?"

Aziraphale shook his head. "You're good at reading people, James. If you think there's something fishy about this woman, then there probably is. Perhaps she is trying too hard for no other reason than she feels she has to establish herself as an authority figure, though. Can you imagine coming into this school, with this student body and this faculty, and not wondering whether you were insane for accepting the job?"

He smiled reassuringly at Wilson, although perhaps not as reassuringly as one might have hoped. Aziraphale really did trust the young doctor's instincts. "What exactly put you so on edge, love?"

Ooh. Aziraphale really didn't like bullies. In fact, pretty much he was willing to hang out with about any kind of person (hello, dating the Devil here!), but bullies got to him.

"Well." That was all he said for the moment, sipping at the cup of tea that had appeared in front of him. "Well, perhaps I'll have to go and meet her for myself."

"Don't be silly, love," Aziraphale reassured him. "I haven't banished anyone in ages. And I'm sure she isn't that bad. Not banishment-bad."

Also, Aziraphale really was trying to not do anything that would get the folks Above nosing around in his business. It was...sort of part of the understanding he'd come to, a few days ago, back in the garden.

"Really, my dear, it can't be that bad."

Why did he get the feeling Wilson was beginning to develop an obsessive aversion to the color pink? "Perhaps she's just very...girlish?"

[ooc: No worries, Phale interpreted that as 'are able to but had better not lose your temper and do so'. :D]

Ouch. Those looks hurt.

Really, the government ought to require people to obtain a license to use those looks.

Aziraphale hid behind his tea, although he did raise a questioning -- and slightly cheeky -- eyebrow at the young doctor.
