The Perk - Monday Afternoon

With a muffin the size of her head and a very large black coffee, Aly was prepared to spend an afternoon reading at the Perk and starting to put together plans for her fall classes.

A.J. shook his head a little. "They sound even better than before," he assured her.

She chuckled. "Excellent save. What classes are you taking?"

A.J. nodded his head in gratitude that she appreciated it. "How to be a Comic Book Super Hero, How to Deal with Stupid People, How to be Awesome, and Practical Applications."

And, yes, now One of these Things is Not Like the Other was playing in his head. He couldn't help the fact that his head did bob along a little with it.

"I wanted to take the Dealing with Stupid People class, but sadly..." Aly grinned. "Practical Applications that engine one?"

"Yeah; I tinker a bit with stuff like that." A.J.'s head tilted, suddenly thoughtful. "You mentioned cheerleading. Is that, like, a faculty adviser sort of thing?"

"Exactly," she agreed. "You have to have a faculty adviser for school clubs and groups."

"Yeah, I know," A.J. chuckled a little sheepishly, rolling his eyes a bit. "We, uh, still need to get one....You...wouldn't...happen to be interested, would you? Don't know what cheerleading does, but we meet every Sunday evening, plus it isn't even that long because the show's on the eighteenth, and, well, there's a special meeting tomorrow, after workshops, but that's a special one."

Aly raised an eyebrow then nodded. "I could do that - as long as you guys are okay that I really know nothing about theatre." Giving a performance? Sure. But theatre? Not so much.

"Oh, God," A.J. wilted a little in relief, rolling his eyes. "Neither do I. I just do all the tech stuff; it's all my roommate's crazy idea anyway, but, yes, you would be the most awesome teacher on the planet if you did this for us, seriously. Not that you and your giant muffin not dirty aren't awesome enough as is it. This is just extra awesome points."

"If I get enough awesome points, do I get a shiny prize?" Aly asked, laughing. "I'd be happy to help. You said there was a meeting tomorrow?"

"Totally get a shiny prize," A.J. promised. He'd make her one if he had to. Not that he'd mind. "And, yeah. Tomorrow, evening-ish. In the gym."

Aly grinned. "I'll be there absolutely. It sounds like it's going to be fun. You have any designs for the sets yet?"

"Uhhh, not....quite," A.J. admitted a little sheepishly. "But that's where this," he lifted his cup, "comes in. Go juice. Muse in a cup."

"Plus plenty of time still," she said. "If it were the 17t, it might be time to worry."

"So what's this musical called?" Aly asked. "Will there be singing and dancing?"

"The Dream Oath," A.J. said. "And not only will there be singing and dancing, but there will be a frog in a twirly evil mustashe and men in drag. You can't go wrong, really."

"I can't imagine anything more right," Aly said. "I can't even tell you how much I'm looking forward to this now. Do there need to be pyrotechnics? I could assist on that."
