The Park, Monday Evening

Andrew was a little tired of being woken up in the middle of the night by a playful cheetah cub attacking his feet. He brought Bart with him to the park to see if a little running around might be the key to a night of restful sleep. He also had a notebook, and when he wasn't being pounced upon, Andrew was writing and doodling.

A walk in the park had seemed like a good idea, until he saw a big cat running around on the grass. At least this one wasn't a divine servant in disguise, or if it was the disguise was really impressive. Gabriel bared his teeth and hissed at the cheetah cub.

Jeff would have passed right by if he hadn't seen a certain Strange Bloke sitting there.

Normally, he'd use the opportunity to flee, but there were more important matters here.

He stomped over towards Andrew. "You've got a video!" he said, accusingly.

The little cheetah cub just stopped and gave the big man a quizzical kind of look, before attempting to pounce on one of his feet.

"Hey, get off me, you hellcat!" Gabriel cried out, glaring at the playful cub.

Andrew looked up from where he was sitting, "Umm, no it's a notebook." He picked up the notebook and waved it about as proof.

But Jeff was not to be swayed from his objective. "You've got a video," he repeated, "A tape. A tape of lesbians."

The cub ran away. He was unnaturally fast, even for a cheetah. If one could follow the blurry trail, he would see the cub peeking out from behind Andrew, seated in the grass.

"You! Is that your devilish creature? It's attacking strangers!" Gabriel waved a pointed finger at Andrew.

"I have no such..." Andrew paused. "Are you referring to the documentary I'm putting together based on Friday night's festivities occurring in the fifth floor common room?"

"Yes! The lesbians!" Jeff was gesturing now. "You can't keep the lesbians to yourself, it's against the code!"

Andrew looked up at the angry man. "Um, it's my roommate, Bart. And, I mean, as far as I know, he can hardly be considered devilish. I've met a few creatures that are, you know, literally devilish, and this little fella' is nothing like them."

He pulled Bart into his lap, protectively.

Andrew frowned, "The code?" He was really worried that it was something he should know about.

"It's part of the Man Code!" Jeff argued, unaware of who he was arguing with, if there was anyone at all, "Lesbians and pornography are to be shared. Especially in combination."

The monkey was contradicting him. Gabriel eyed him cooly. "Yeah? Like what creatures?"

Andrew thought of a number of demonic creatures. "Hellhounds, for starters."

Gabriel made a face of disgust. "Why would you want to meet those? They smell!"

Andrew was suddenly feeling very protective of his documentary. "It is not pornography! There are interviews!" He was now doing a fair amount of flailing himself. "It is very tastefully done -- at least, it will be once I'm done splicing it together and add the music. And not all of the participants were lesbians. I have a few very tasteful shots of guys partaking in the fun as well."

"Exactly!" Andrew cradled Bart closer to him, "And little Bart here doesn't smell at all. He is very clean, and therefore, very not devilish."

And Jeff stared.

"What?" he said. He'd just realised who he was talking to again, and exactly why he was avoiding the weird, weird boy. "Are you trying to entice eye-slippage?"

"You don't know what you're talking about. Smell has nothing to do with it. Cats are devilish, period." Gabriel eyed the boy suspiciously.

"I, um..." Andrew had no idea what 'eye-slippage' might be, "... am merely doing my job as an unbiased documenter. I can't help it if that happens."

He looked very proud of his answer, but then, "What is eye-slippage?"

"You can't do that to people," Jeff said. He was getting mental images of himself as a crusader, "They'll be watching the lesbians one minute," he took a moment to think of the lesbians, "...And then suddenly, out of the blue, your eyes slip and there's a bloke! Someone could get hurt!"

Andrew was offended. He knew plenty about devilish things. In a very ancient, mostly forgotten, and pretty heinous sounding language (the native tongue of the original keepers of the hellhounds), Andrew mumbled, "I bet I know more than you do."

Andrew thought about this. It made no sense to him, but to appease Jeff he said, "Well, I'll put in a very clear transition from the girl kissing segment to the boy kissing segment. Would you like to be in the video? I haven't finished it yet."

Gabriel rolled his eyes and replied in the same language: "You lose that bet, stupid monkey."
