Fandom Post Office, Tuesday, 8/7
Annette hadn't really wanted to call in today and not come to work, so she was very thankful that stupid spell ended yesterday. She was just incredibly sore from all those jerky movements. She rubbed warming muscle cream into her legs and arms and smelled like a walking peppermint stick, but that hardly mattered for the sake of comfort.
She was behind the counter. Not moving. Just standing there staring forward. She might be daydreaming, who knows.
The bell was out with a note that read: I'm standing here staring at you - ring it more than once I can't promise what will happen to you.
The Post Office is open.

Re: Annette
Re: Annette
"I tried calling them, but Jonathan's mom won't let him talk to me anymore and I'm pretty sure my aunt finally go caller ID. She never picks up the phone."
Re: Annette
She took the letters and looked down at them. "Jonathan is a friend?"
Re: Annette
He frowned, "I, um, I didn't have any stamps."
Re: Annette
"Oh, well, that is why you came to the post office isn't it?" She grinned and applied the proper stamps and told him how much. "They'll go into the sorting engine and make it to where they're supposed to go in no time."
Re: Annette
"Annette," Andrew was looking at his feet, "What do you think of the Headmistress?" His voice caught a little. Oh the guilt.
Re: Annette
That frown kept to her brow too he mentioned Umbridge. "I hate her. She punished me yesterday, Andrew, and I was doing this jerky freaky dance for the better part of the day. My muscles ache so much today." She paused and considered him for a moment. "Why, what happened? Did she hurt you? I swear if she hurt you --"
Re: Annette
Andrew's head was almost completely bowed, "No, she didn't hurt me, but umm..." He didn't want to say anything. He didn't want Annette to know what he had done. "Why did she punish you?"
Andrew covered his face with his hands.
Re: Annette
Annette's feelings hardly mattered to her at the moment as Andrew seemed terribly affected by whatever he was thinking and feeling, and she just didn't like this at all.
She reached across the counter to move her hand to lightly touch his arm. "Andrew? What is it?"
Re: Annette
He took a deep breath, "I'm sorry she did that to you. That's, um, that's horrible. She's a horrible person. I'm fine, thank you. Just a bit of an allergic reaction to the, um... the humidity."
No one needs to know, he thought to himself.
Re: Annette
She hurried around the counter and came up close to him, moving to hug him. "Andrew, what is wrong? Let me help you if I can..."
Re: Annette
"Nothing is wrong," he mumbled, "I, um, I just didn't realize what a horrible and spineless person
IUmbridge was until today."Re: Annette
Re: Annette
Andrew moved away from Annette. "Really, she didn't do anything -- well, not to me. I just don't like to think what she might do -- and has done," he gave Annette a very pitiful look, "to my friends."
Re: Annette
"We'll get back at her, you'll see. I stopped by Hermione's this morning before coming to work and
it's got to be played outyeah, we're going to get her, Andrew. Don't you worry so much. We're stronger than what she thinks." The pep talk was just as much for her as it was for him because man, she hated to think of what that woman could really do.Re: Annette
He paused.
"I can do things." The last statement came out with a little more force and a little darker than he probably should have allowed.
Re: Annette
She looked up at him and her eyes narrowed just slightly, and now she was very much curious. Annette lowered her voice, "Like what sorts of things, Andrew?"
Re: Annette
He snapped his fingers. They would be perfect.
"How do you feel about flying monkeys?" There was a gleam in his eye.
Re: Annette
Pause.
"Do you have a flying monkey, Andrew?"
Re: Annette
"Look, Annette, thanks for taking care of my letters. I need to run." There were books to be consulted. He started to move away, but stopped, "Is there some, um, secrete meeting or anything planned?"
