Bart really hoped that a case of the kitty was a good enough excuse for him to not be fired for missing work Monday.

He missed being a cheetah. Mostly the bits where he could pounce on sun beams.

Today's Squishy flavors: Fancy Feast, Catnip, Red.

Turtle stopped in before meeting with Marco to ~~annoy~~ see if Bart actually came into work today

"Oh, good. You are here. After the chaos, of course." She frowned at him a little.

Bart waved cheerfully at his boss. "I was a cheetah, does that count as a sick day?"

Turtle nodded. "It does. I was figuring it was something like that, really. I guessed a duck."

She paused, frowning for a moment. "Don't ask me to explain why, I just did."

He wasn't about to ask, but he couldn't help but picture it.

"...But I liked the pouncing..."

"I was a turtle once, you know," she informed him importantly. "Actual turtle. Not as fun as a cheetah; no pouncing."

And then she tried to think of Bart stuck as a turtle, and his agony made her giggle a bit. But in as nice a way as giggling at someone else's pain could be.

"Does everyone turn into an animal here?" He asked, thinking back to the bunny Andrew found in the park.

"I think it's, like, a right of passage, or something," Turtle said, nodding with certainty. "Since you've gone through it, you're now, like, officially a Fandomite. Congrats! I think that gets you a twenty five cent raise."

"Really?" At this rate he'd get that X-Box any day now. If he stopped buying coffee, that was.

"Well, yes. But?" Turtle looked around for a second, even rising up on her toes to peek over some of the shelves before leaning over and lowering her voice as she whispered, "And you have to do something evil to Apu today, because he was being a real jerkface the other day. Do that, you can get a raise."

Oh no. Giving Bart free reign to annoy someone never boded well for them.

"Like what?"

Turtle shrugged. "You're a smart kid; use your imagination."

Bart settled down behind the counter, looking like he might have as a cheetah just before attacking someone's toes.
