Turtle & Canary; Sunday [ 08/19 ]

Turtle was very pleased to see that the store was still standing. With Bart and Apu, she truly did have her doubts. But everything seemed to be in running, working order, so that was yet another load off her mind. But she missed the store a lot, and her attention to a few details in other shops she'd been at over the week gave her a few ideas on how to make a customer's shopping experience at Turtle & Canary even better than it already was, so she was busy going between making up some charts to those regards and telling the counter and the SquishyBot and Liz and the little scanning beeper thing how much she missed them.

Today's Squishy flavors: Red, Yellow, Eternal Blue Sky

Turtle & Canary is open!

Jeff certainly had.

That's why he was coming in the shop around lunchtime, carrying a lunch made of sandwiches and leftover omelette. Just in case Turtle was hungry or anything.

"Turtle!" he said, grinning brightly, "I've got food! It's an excellent morning!" Afternoon. Whichever.

Awww. Jeff's facial expression sort of sank. "I'm sorry. I've got sandwiches," he said, "And omelette. River made it, it's got lots of weird stuff in. I would've bought something if I knew it'd been mandatory but the shop doesn't say."

"...Er," Jeff glanced down at the little bag full of omelette, "...onions and apples and bacon and something that sort of looks like walnuts?" He looked up at Turtle again. "It's really good, though, you should try it."

Okay. That was a hard question. Jeff gaped at her over the bag of sandwiches and the bag of omelette. "... I got you sandwiches," he managed, "I'm not entirely certain if they compensate, though, I haven't found the right scale yet."

"I got you sandwiches," Jeff repeated for emphasis, "And Nana's been chewing on my mattress lately, I don't want to give her any reason to start on anything else out of spite."

That made sense somewhere.

"Sometimes I don't think she likes my furniture very much," he explained.

He blinked at her. "Ask Apu," he said, simply, and dropped the bags on the counter.

"Either," Jeff said, grinning brightly, "Although if he says no to the lunch I may have to speak to him regarding legalities. I'm fairly certain they change when there's boyfriends involved."

"She might like the apples," Jeff mused, "I think they remind her of pens."

He did not elucidate on that. Instead, he shoved the omelette bag aside and pushed the sandwiches towards Turtle. "I've already eaten," he said, "Not to say I wouldn't want to eat with you, because obviously eating with you is preferable to not eating with you or eating without you -- which is not to say eating is necessary, I mean..."

He paused. "I'll have a sandwich."
