The Park, Sunday, Late Afternoon
The day was cloudy, and thunderstorms threatened; but Ronan had felt the need for some fresh air, and the thunderstorms themselves would have been a welcome diversion, full of life and power. His recent encounters with Teddy weighed heavily on his mind -- certainly, he didn't want to interfere with what Chad and Teddy had going on between them, but at the same time he couldn't shake the feeling that there was at least something going on between them.
So he was walking through the park, listening to the conversations of the trees and plants around him. Without focusing, it was more of a pleasant hum; he wasn't as adept as Nita at discerning their particular form of Speech, not unless he was trying. But the background noise was a counterpoint to his own thoughts, supporting him, keeping him from feeling alone as he emo'd.
[OOC: For a particular person, but open, as parks are wont to be; feel free to interrupt him!]

Grunting slightly, Chad stopped a moment to rub his forehead as if that would help keep his head from hurting. It didn't make sense. Why was this happening now, after he'd been...good about stuff? Been trying hard. Not hard enough? Maybe he had just started taking everything for granted. Or that he'd just forgotten exactly why he usually didn't allow himself to get close to people...
He looked up for a moment to decide which way to go, and that was when he spotted someone else in the area.
...And, of course it would have been Ronan, wouldn't it?

He hesitated a moment, but also saw that he'd been seen. "Uh, hi," he said, loud enough for it to carry to Chad, as he walked towards him. "You're human again, I see."

"If anything," he added, "I...probably owe you now."

Why would Ronan even want to do that again? Maybe Ronan just really liked cooking. Or maybe Ronan just really liked Teddy. And then Chad grunted in annoyance at himself. Just because Teddy liked Ronan didn't mean...Cooking. Ronan just liked cooking. It wasn't fair of Chad to be thinking like that, jumping to conclusions when Ronan was just trying to be nice....

It was totally the sand's fault for being so warm and comfy.

Chad thought this was about him falling asleep? Seriously?

There was a pause, and Ronan considered saying something about what had happened. Or almost happened. Or something. But it wasn't his place, and if Teddy hadn't said anything...

"I mean...If you're sure you want to."

Chad ran a hand through his hair; it settled right back over his eyes, and he grunted a surrender. "Think...want any help with anything?"

Mmmm, tummy rubs.

"...Empanadas," he said, after only a brief beat.
And then promptly winced as his brain caught up with his stomach and he remembered who'd made those for him last...

Which, in retrospect, was not a good thing, but a bitter part of his brain that rarely surfaces was reminding him that, hell, Teddy would probably be thinking about Ronan when they did this, so he might as well be thinking about her.
"Something with lots of tomatoes," he decided.
no subject
"Tomatoes... Okay, sure." He grinned. "So, yeah, just talk to me when you work out when with Teddy, I'm free pretty much every night but Wednesdays."

This was...going to be...well, Chad was just going to go with interesting right now...

"Great, then," Ronan said, though, smiling as best he could. "So... I'll see you around?" He paused. "Unless there's anything else?"
no subject
But Chad just said "No, nothing else," shaking his head slightly and lifting a hand in a sort of waveless wave before turning slightly to head down a different path of the park. "See ya around."

So he just said, "Yeah, see you around," and continued down a different path.
