The Devil's Nest, Tuesday Night (08/21)

With Wilson and Lucifer out of town, Aziraphale found he had quite a lot of time on his hands. So he'd spent the day reading up some more on bartending. And, well, just reading in general.

There might also have been some research on the moral implications of casting curses, as they pertained to beings that didn't technically have Original Sin. No reason, really.

First drink is free for anyone with a good idea for a curse to put on a certain Evil Pink Headmaster.

Why look, there was a little sister there.

And someone Aziraphale suspected would be easily able to earn herself a free drink.

"Good evening, Phoebe," he said, with a mischievous little grin. "How is Mr Anders feeling?"

Phoebe beamed. "He and Cole are a bit... tired out."

Aziraphale realized that he was sort of sorry he'd asked. His little sister's sex life was not something he wanted to be the least little bit knowledgeable about, thankyouverymuch!

"Er, quite," he replied, with an embarrassed little cough. "Well, can I get you a drink, my dear?"

"Somethting strong enough to anger a certain beastie in pink if I breathe on her?"

A grin accompanied Aziraphale's nod. "Suggest a good curse to put on her, and it's even on the house," he said, as he began to mix one of the drinks (http://www.drinksmixer.com/drink6439.html) he'd been studying that afternoon.

Phoebe's eyes twinkled with mischief. "Silencio. It's the spell she cast on me... I couldn't even hear myself breathe. She can't torture us with her edicts and screeching if she can't talk."

"That sounds like it would be as much a blessing for the rest of us as a curse for her," he agreed, setting the drink down for Phoebe. And adding a pink umbrella, of course.

"What brings you out here tonight?"

"I'm just out wandering... giving the boys some time alone."

"My boys are having some alone time as well, so it's nice to have the company."

Aziraphale poured himself a glass of scotch and pulled up a stool on the other side of the bar. "Summer's nearly over, isn't it?"

Phoebe bit her lip and nodded.

Okay, sometimes a bartender just needed to be on the customer's side of the bar. Aziraphale came round and slid onto the stool next to Phoebe, and held his arm out in an invitation for a hug.

"Do you have any plans?" he asked softly.

Phoebe tried to fight back tears. "I've been accepted into a couple of schools. Have a partial scholarship... applied for a grant, but dunno if I'll get it." She shook her head. "I told Cole I would put off school for a year so I could work and we could have out own place... he's not thrilled, niether is Piper."

"Don't you even think about putting it off," Aziraphale said, squeezing Phoebe's shoulders. "James and I will help you out as much as you need, so you choose the school you want, not just the one that will give you money."

"Thank you," she whispered. "That means a lot to me." Phoebe leaned against him. "Part of me doesn't want to leave, Aziraphale."

"James and I don't want you to leave, either. But college will be a good experience for you, and of course we can write and call one another, and even perhaps find some opportunities to visit," Aziraphale suggested. "We could come out and take a look at your college campus sometime, once you're settled in."

Phoebe smiled at him and nodded. "The college and wherever we may be living. I'd love to give my brothers the tour of the college I decide on."

Leo didn't know much about curses, but he might have a few prank ideas.

If it was a clever prank, Aziraphale was prepared to be lenient.

"Good evening, Mr Beach."

"Hey Man, tonight's specials sound tasty."

"I'm glad you think so," Aziraphale said, with a pleased smile. "I'm running a special treat tonight as well. Your first drink is on the house if you can come up with an idea for a curse to put on You Know Who up at the school."

"Curses huh? How about, may you wake up with a disgruntled buffalo on your face?"

Oh, that was a good one!

Aziraphale laughed, and set an empty glass on the bar. "And what would you like as your free drink, my dear?"

"I like the sound of the Enchantress." the old Hippie decided.

Aziraphale mixed the requested drink, added a pink umbrella in "honor" of the aforementioned Temporary Principal of Doom, and set it in front of Leo.

"Here you are, one Enchantress. Tell me what you think."

"Leo took a sip, and smiled. "That's good stuff Man." he said. "You're pretty good at this gig."

"Well, thank you, Mr Beach." Aziraphale chuckled. "Although really, it isn't as though I can't just, you know, miracle the drink so that it tastes as it's supposed to. If I need to, of course."

"Where would be the fun in that?"

Aziraphale nodded his agreement. "Very little, I should imagine. But, it does mean that I can always blame the bad-tasting drinks on the recipes, instead of my own bartending skill."

"Well then that works out great Man." Leo snickered. "Cause some drinks just don't taste good."

Great place for thinking up curses. Or playing pool.

Choose your own music tonight. And then dance to it!
