Caritas, Thursday [8/23]

The zombie band was playing all kinds of different music. Their current selection?

"Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead!" They keep changing "Witch" to "Umbitch". Can't imagine where they might have gotten an idea for lyrics like those. No idea.

Phoebe and Tino looked like they might be having a drinking contest. Who could tell with the two of them.

Caritas is very definitely open.

Ding dong the merry oh, sing it high, sing it low...

Phoebe is here, as is Tino. Phoebe is the more sober of the two... that probably won't last long due to the emo she is feeling.

Eve looked uncharacteristically solemn as she approached the bar. "Hey, Phoebe," she said. "I need a drink. The harder, the better."

"Vodka or whiskey or tequila? Me? I'm going for something different and drinking Ambrosia and something called Scotch whiskey."

"Vodka," Eve decided. "And you might as well just hand over the bottle." Moreso for the fact that she just really, really liked to drink and not so much due to any emo.

Phoebe poured her a shot and then handed over the bottle. "Good choice."

"Never let it be said I don't know how to appreciate my booze. And by 'appreciate' I mean 'massively consume,' of course." Eve grinned before downing the shot. She didn't pour herself another one, though. Not yet. More shots could wait until after the Oh So Fun Conversation Of DOOM. Except not so much with the doom.

Phoebe tossed back her second shot of Ambrosia and poured another one.

"Wanna talk here or head to the lounge?"

"Hm... lounge," Eve decided. "Might as well be comfortable for the major revelations."

Phoebe nodded. "Good point." She grabbed her bottle and led the way into the lounge

Anders? He was kind of hitting the bottle pretty hard himself tonight.

Phoebe downed her shot. "Hey..."

"Hey," Anders said, giving her a tired smile. "Bar's in the way. Can I come back there with you?"

"Of course you can."

That was all the invitation he needed to plant one hand on the bar and vault over it, pulling her into his arms and a fierce hug that didn't show any signs of letting up any time soon.

"Seems like I've done nothing but hug you for the past week," he whispered roughly. "Aren't you sick of it yet?"

"I will never be sick of it."

Anders smiled weakly and dropped his head to let his forehead rest against hers. "I could hug you nonstop from now until next Friday night and it still won't be enough."

"I don't want next Friday night to ever come. I want to freeze time."

"I know," Anders said glumly, tightening his arms around her. "I feel like it's going to kill me to see you go."

The emo seemed to be affecting Bel fas well as he took his usually seat at the bar.

At some point, a very sloshed Anders flung himself at Bel, and . . . passed out on him.

Bel blinked and caught Anders, shaking his head with a soft chuckle. He caught Phoebe's eye and tilted his head toward the lounge, letting her know that he would take Anders there and let him rest until her shift was over.

He did, however, keep a possessive hand on Anders arm when he settled beside him.

Phoebe raised her half empty bottle to her soul mate in a salute and nodded. It was obvious that Anders hadn't been drinking alone tonight.

Tori didn't feel like being in the dorms tonight. So instead, here she was.

"Hey Tori. What can I get ya?"

Yeah, Phoebe was no longer sober.

For talking, relaxing and other things.

After they got comfortable with their bottles and such, Phoebe looked at Eve. "What's up?"

Eve decided 'to hell with shots' and took a swig straight from the bottle while she tried to figure out exactly how to say it.

"Well... you know how we told people that Savannah and I are cousins? It's... not exactly true."

Phoebe was sipping the Ambrosia from the glass she had with her. She raised an eyebrow at her friend. "Alright?"

"You're going to think I'm crazy, but oh well." Eve shrugged. "I'm not her cousin, I'm her mother."

"Where's the crazy part, Eve?" Phoebe asked her calmly as she drank. "I've been in Fandom for two years. In that time, I have been turned into a kid twice. I've had my kids from alternate futures show up. I have killed my soulmate and then went into hell to bring him back to me. I have been possessed by an evil witch from the past who turned one nephew into a pig and the other into a sugar glider. One of my big brothers is an Angel. My two cats have turned into people and, oh, have I mentioned that my two nephews, Wyatt and Chris, are actually from an alternate future." She smiled. "I ask again, where is the crazy?"

"... Tell me Chris got turned into a sugar glider. Because that would just be funny as all fuckin' hell." And she wasn't sure why. This was Eve before she even got drunk, people.

"Oh, and let's add in the fact that I'm also dead."

Phoebe shook her head, covering her face. "I uhm... turned Chris into a pig when he rejected my sexual advances. Wyatt spent the week as a sugar glider." She took a drink. "Dead?"

"At least it was because of that whole possession thing, right?" Eve said optimistically. "And damn. Chris as a sugar glider would've been great."

She nodded. "Yeah. Dead. Got killed trying to protect my daughter from a bunch of people who wanted to use her in experiments and run all kinds of tests on her, to be exact."

Phoebe blinked, her eyes narrowing. "Excuse me?"

"We were kidnapped because some fuckwad wanted to hunt us. Well, he wanted me, but Savannah was home from school. I let her stay home." There was a sadness in her voice. "So they got both of us. And when they found out about her, they didn't just want to hunt her, they wanted to test her first."

She forced her voice not to shake. "I tried to get us out of there, but... I was killed in the escape. And the afterlife? Got spent pissing off the Fates. And then they decided they wanted me to do something for them. Which is why I'm here."

Phoebe had never felt such rage before. "Hunt you... he wanted to fucking hunt you. They wanted to hunt you and treat your daughter as a laboratory animal." Her voice was shaking as she took a drink of the Ambrosia.

"Yeah." Eve smiled bitterly. "Some mother I turned out to be. Couldn't even keep her safe."

"You tried and were killed for it. Savannah... Savannah seems really happy that you are here." She peered at her friend. "The people who did this?"

"Dead," Eve said solemnly. "Thank God."

She stared contemplatively at the bottle in her hands. "Who knows? Maybe the coven was right about me... maybe I am bad. Evil. The magic I practice isn't the kindest." But it was all in the intent. Well, not all, but largely.
