Caritas - Monday evening (Open)

Emma was considering making Monday's a White Drinks Only day. But that would mean no Cosmos. Emma was finding this a dilemma and was working on it by drinking, well, Cosmos. Tino looked like he was wondering if perhaps somewhere else in town was hiring.

ooc: This is also Emma's office hours today, and there's a ~~handwavey~~ sign on her office door to say so. I'm around, but mod Tino if you want. OCD up!

The Zombies were trying for classic rock today.

Emma and Tino have the booze.

It was Deadpool who walked into Caritas - except his gait was different, his back straighter and his mask immeasurably more unreadable. It was Cable behind the eyes, mildly annoyed at his inability to fully pinpoint his windows of opportunity (or the length thereof), but reasonably certain this was his opportunity.

He sat down at the bar. "Emma."

"Deadpool," Emma nodded. She sipped her Cosmo, and then frowned, looking back up. There was a mind there. One she could sense. That wasn't right. "You're not Deadpool."

"It's Cable." he said, wasting no time. "I need to talk to you."

"Talk away," Emma said, blinking. On the telepaths' Astral plane, pink tendrils began to reach from Emma's head to Deadpool's. She wasn't attacking yet, just checking that the identity was correct. "I had no idea Deadpool and yourself were quite this close, I must say."

He really didn't have the time. "Shortly before I died, I bonded with a Mummudrai," Cable said -- barely refraining from giving in to the exposition and mentioning the 'psychic parasite' bit. "It linked me to Wade and Dom. When I died, the link must have pulled me back into Wade's mind. I don't know how much time I've got. He's planning something. I've tried to contact him, but he's being..." Wade. "...Difficult. I need you to stop him before he does something stupid."

Emma pulled back, satisfied with the id check. She arched an eyebrow at Cable. "Excuse me?" She had better things to do than lock Deadpool in a box until the stupid passed. Wait. "Stupider than usual, you mean?"

"He's going looking for Sinister." If anything qualified for 'very stupid', that would be it.

"The bondage queen?" Even Emma thought Sinister's outfits were a bit much, and she'd been to Hellfire Club parties. She brightened as a thought struck her. "Is he going to ask for employment? Because I have to say, I would fully support that!"

"No." He refrained from rubbing his-Wade's-their brow. He really did. Don't mind the hand going up. "I need a beer," Cable said.

"Beer is good." For some reason, Emma really wanted one too. It might have something to do with the sudden, inexplicable mental image of Jamie Madrox dressed up as Little Bo Peep. She gave Cable a suspicious look, in case it was his fault as she placed the beer in front of him.

"All right, he wants to do something stupid with Sinister. You're going to have to give me a little more than that. With Deadpool it could mean anything from spray painting DP was here in his lab to stealing super secret research."

"He wants to bring me back to life," Cable said, fumbling for only the teensiest tenth of a second with the mask before taking a long drink from the beer as if he hadn't had one in weeks. Which he hadn't. Because he was dead. "He believes Sinister may have a clone in his lab."

"Um," said Emma, and then she too drank from her beer, eyes a little wide. "Yes, all right, that does qualifies as stupid. He does know that Sinister's clones tend to be a little..." She waved her hand vaguely. "...Unstable?"

Which was putting it mildly.

"I'm not sure he cares," Cable offered. The rest of the beer went quickly enough, too. "Can I count on you? I'm not sure how long I can keep control. The windows of opportunity seem a little... random." Well, it was Wade. It was only to be expected.

Emma nodded after a moments hesitation. If there were Cable-clones, there might be more Jean-clones. Emma did not want Jean-clones running around.

"I'll see what I can do."

"Thank you." Cable nodded, then got up from the bar, ready to walk away--

And turned around. "...Can I have another beer?" he asked. He really needed one.

Emma handed him one, shooting him an amused look as well. "On the house. Special for the trauma of living in Wade's brain."

Cable stoiced like a stoic thing in return, took the beer, and left Caritas.

For relaxing and chatting.

I might take a nap, but I'll pick up tags when I wake up! Colour coding notes is hard work, damnit.
