Turtle & Canary; Tuesday [ 09/11 ]

Turtle was slumped at the counter, drumming her fingers idly on it. She may have even been pouting, but she might potentially kick you for saying that. Being a responsible businesswoman and potential mob boss was difficult; you didn't really get to do much of the fun stuff, did you? Couldn't even say anything about it, or else you'd blow your cover. But she consoled herself by keeping in mind that later, if she does pursue that path, there's guaranteed to be a lot more money in it.

Today's Squishy Flavors: Black, White, Still Bad Red.

Turtle & Canary is open.

And here came Robin, on the hunt for Muppet DVD's.

"Hi Turtle! I'm looking for DVD's, or even VHS...es, of some of my Uncle Kermit's work for Pop Culture class."

"Ooh, sounds tempting to look at though." he bounced. "What year are you from by the way?"

"Must have been nice." he said. "One less brain breaky moment for you."

"I think I've seen him around. I thought he might be a Muppet at first."

"I take it that's when he works?" Robin giggled.

"But what about customers who need things from high shelves on days he's not working?" he asked cheekily.

Oh Robin could totally beat her on the sticking out the tongue bit. But due to lack of budget in the construction of his puppet he chose not to. He giggled instead. "Okay then. So, media section?"

"Thanks!" Robin went to check, and soon returned with a few DVD's, and a troubled expression. "I think I saw some stuff that hasn't been made yet in my time. Muppet things I mean. It's tempting to get them."

"I'm not sure I want to know before it happens. I've heard all sorts of stories about how knowing the future can mess it up."

"It's something to think about."

"Hey Turtle," said Mary with a big smile on her face. It was her day off, so she was dressed casually in a tank top and jeans. "I'm going to need a few things today. Flour, sugar, baking soda, marshmallows and chocolate chips," she read off her list.

[And hopefully LJ won't eat my post this time.]

"Yes. I found a new recipe that I want to try out," said Mary. "Besides, Gunther bows to my cooking-baking superiority." Mary didn't own any sweaters. It doesn't get cold in Las Vegas.

"Gunther doesn't like anyone in his kitchen, not even me," said Mary. "But I have a nice little kitchenette in my suite. I'd be happy to bring you some cookies."

"I'll definitely bring some by, then. I love baking," said Mary, smiling.

"How's business doing?" Mary was all about supporting local businesses.

"That's great!" said Mary. "Are they new students?"

"Actually, I ended up hiring her," said Mary, smiling. "She understands German! She can communicate with Gunther better than I can. I couldn't pass that up."

"He was just fine, last time I talked to him. He told me how much he loves the job," said Mary. Her information might be just slightly out of date since she hasn't been around the hotel all day today.

"He told me it was the best job in the world," said a very happy Mary. Of course, Jeff might have said that just because she was giving him a hug at the time.

"I have some big plans for the hotel. There was a hospitality industry conference last weekend in D.C. and I came back with all sorts of new ideas for room improvements," Mary added. "Might as well put that extra capital to use instead of leaving it in the briefcase, right?"

"Definitely not," agreed Mary. She was used to the strict scrutiny of the Nevada Gaming Commission. "I might give my friend Sarasvati a call to help me out. She was my accountant back in Vegas."
