The Devil's Nest, Tuesday Night (10/02)

Aziraphale had a bunch of cocktail napkins in fall colors, which he'd found quite conveniently located under the bar, next to the reglar white napkins. Of course, they probably hadn't been there until he'd decided to look, but that was the handy thing about being an angel.

Now he was sitting behind the bar, making wee origami turkeys in orange, yellow, and red.

Okay, so the turkeys looked kind of like ducks. Just go with it.

Wouldn't it be a shame if Aziraphale forget to get rid of all the origami birdies when he was finished playing with them?

Well Leo thought the drink specials tonight sounded great, so here he was to try them out.

Angel vs. Ninja! Who will win?!

Neither.

It's duck...turkey power all the way.

"Good evening, Mr Beach," Aziraphale said, putting the finishing touches on a little orange ~~duck~~ turkey. "What would you like to try this evening?"

"I think I'd like to start with the Spice Cake." Leo decided. "Where do you find these drinks man?"

"Oh, out of a book of recipes," Aziraphale chuckled. "I rather liked the sound of the Spice Cake myself. I've got a mind to do some actual baking tomorrow."

He made up the drink and set it in front of Leo with a smile. One of the little ~~ducks~~ turkeys waddled over and eyed its reflection in the glass.

Leo was quite distracted by the weetiny paper water fowl. "Woah."

"Now now, be careful there," Aziraphale said to the little paper bird, nudging it out of harm's way before it could be damaged by the condensation from Leo's glass.

The origami creature took a peck at Aziraphale's finger, and the gave a paper little ~~quack~~ gobble.

"Far out." Leo observed. "What is it?"

"Erm. It's a turkey," Aziraphale replied. Was supposed to be a turkey, at any rate.

The ~~duck~~ turkey stared up at Leo.

Fandom never stood a chance of withstanding the the onslaught of the origami turkeys.

Josh was not in the mood to be social. He was in the mood to be drunk.

"Beer, please."

Deadpool was positively glowing this evening.

"Beers all around!"

Noticing Josh, Deadpool waved cheerfully. "Lyman! My good man!"

Yes, he still liked Josh because of the ninja/Fiddler on the Roof thing.

Normally Aziraphale would have asked what Josh's preference was, but that didn't seem like an order that much cared, so long as hops were somehow involved. So he got the best they had on tap, and set the glass on the bar. And then shooed one of the little turkey-ducks away.

"Shall I keep it filled, or would you like something else to chase it with?"

"Hello, Mr Wilson," Aziraphale said brightly. "Buying a round for the whole place?"

Deadpool was not giving the guy who hit on him a suspicious look at all. Nope.

"Precisely! I'm in a generous mood."

Luckily, Aziraphale tended to be kind of oblivious to suspicious looks.

"As you like, my dear," he said, as charged Josh's beer to Deadpool instead, and set one next to Leo. "Have you got a preference for yourself? There are some nice brews on tap."

"Something fun," Deadpool replied after a moment. "With an adorable umbrella. Preferably one that's red. Or looks like bruises."

Gleeful over something? Him? NEVER.

Josh swallowed about half of his beer before nodding at Deadpool. "Hey."

Josh stared listlessly at the turkey-ducks, then shrugged. "Just beer for now. Long week."

And it was only Tuesday.
