Mary had told her that it might be busy today with the alumni's arriving for homecoming. River had put a plate with cookies on the desk for visitors, to make it feel more welcoming. She had also discovered the fascinating world of savoury muffins, not that sweet and savoury was a distinction she found of major importance..

Mary was there bright and early, clipboard in hand. "Good morning, River," she said cheerfully. She was hoping that if she acted really bubbly, it would help her forget that all this homecoming talk was really making her miss her high school sweetheart.

Parker got there about mid-afternoon, and smiled widely when she saw who was behind the desk. "Hey, stranger."

Chloe hung up on Oliver for the second time in twelve hours as she headed into the hotel lobby.

Since River and Mary were busy, Hoshi jumped behind the desk. "Welcome to the Arms! I see your reservation and here's your room key."

Sam showed up and grinned when she saw River behind the desk. "Hi River," she greeted her a little sheepishly, "do you have any rooms available at short notice? I wasn't sure I was going to be able to make it."

"I'll take care of it, River. I've got the list of empty rooms right here," said Mary. "We have plenty of extra rooms available," she added, smiling at Sam.

"All I need for is for you to sign the guest register right here at the desk while I grab your key."

Before Mary stepped in to arrange the reservation, River grinned back. "Sam! Am learning to fly spaceships and Anakin helpd me repair the Acorn! Have a cookie! And welcome back!"

After her Love Smart class ended, Hoshi stopped by the hotel, since Mary had handwavily asked if she could help out on Friday. Until she was needed, she was sitting on one of the comfy chairs reading her book.
