Luke's Diner; Sunday [ 11/18 ]

Hey, it was Sunday. He was here in Fandom again, so why not swing by the old dig that added to the long line of counter-jockeying that A.J. would spend his life doing waiting for his works to really pick up? Mosey on down, hop behind the counter and see what's changed in the last couple of decades.

...Which, apparently, wasn't much at all. "Huh," A.J. commented, looking around, and then...

"Oooh, special's board." Delightfully blank and waiting. Time to get to work.

Luke's is open.

Beauty blushed a little, still working on wrapping her head around everyone being twenty years older, and smiled at A.J. "It's so strange, it feels like I only saw you a few days ago. Except that you were a lot younger then."

The more she was around him, though, the more he became like the A.J. she knew. "I'll try and write more. Maybe...sometime I might even be able to manage a visit to your city or something. See some of the artwork you've been doing lately."

"Maybe we could work it out," A.J. offered, "that you could come see one of Troy's shows, too."

"Oh, I'd like that, A.J.! We'll work it out somehow," Beauty said, with another one of those very definite nods. She really wanted to invite him to come and visit her, except that even without any memory of what her life was like, she was pretty sure visitors from outside were not a part of it.

"How did you end up working here today, anyway?" she asked.

A.J. snorted. "I just came in, man," he admitted, shrugging. "It just felt like the thing to do."

"It's because you missed inventing milkshakes for people," Beauty teased. "And you knew I'd be coming by for one."

Beauty raised her eyebrows at him. "Well, you did say that I have a one track mind. I'm in Fandom, it's A.J.'s shift at the diner, where else would I be?"
