Fandom Post Office, Monday, 11/19

Annette had spent some great times in this building and couldn't resist from coming in and taking over for the day. But to see it as it was back then was a bit of a shocker. Nothing seemed to change. Nothing at all. She was mildly thankful for that as she set about to meet and greet any customers who walked in.

Oh, and she couldn't resist in setting out the little bell, however this time with no note.

The Post Office is open.

She is so willing to help you with any post office needs. Probably non-post office needs as well.

Ino wandered down after class, and wow that had been weird, just to see if Annette was around. And, also, this had been her routine back then. It was fun to follow it one more time.

There was someone calling for her? Annette came out front and smiled, narrowing her eyes slightly as she looked at the familiar face. "Ino?"

"That’s right," Ino said with a grin, "Long time no see, yeah?"

"Can hardly believe it," she replied. "You look great and I heard you were back; listened to the radio last night."

"You look great, too. Honestly though? Most of us do, it’s fantastic. I heard it too." Ino grinned, leaning against the counter, "It told no lies. Yesterday was fun."

"Thanks," she grinned. "And you're right, a lot of us do, though I will admit, I haven't seen but a few people so far. But Johnny? How did he look?" her eyes danced playfully.

"Totally hot, of course." Ino said cheerfully, "And delightfully unbothered by the fact that I'm married."

She smirked. "Johnny Storm will probably never change," she said wryly. "Kabuto right?" She thought that was mentioned on the radio...

"Yeah, me and Kabuto. Imagine that! Never even thought it would happen." Ino tapped her fingers on the counter, "Though not the one that's here right now, my Kabuto's still at home." Not that this had stopped her from sleeping with the one here, but whatever.

"What about you? What've you been getting up to?"

"I'm not exactly surprised, Ino, not after the way you would go on about him in high school," Annette teased. "For me, it's not that hard to picture anyways. The alternate universe still boggles my mind though."

She shrugged a shoulder. "Not much. Went to college after high school," didn't ever get married, but... "and I have a fourteen year old son. I stay busy with my career and him."

"Marriage though, that's something else." Ino smiled, "I don't deny that the chemistry was always there but... in my world, we were always on different sides." Her eyes darkened, "Of course, things change." No she didn't want to talk about what, exactly had changed.

"A son? Oooooh, and so old already?" Ino was delighted, "I've got two of my own, but they're only ten."

Out of a vague curiosity, A.J. poked his head into the post office.

"Ha! Knew it!" he declared triumphantly as he walked in. "I'm not the only crazy one going back to their old jobs to spend the day."

"A.J.!" Annette beamed and ran around the counter where she moved in to give him a tight hug. "Omigod how are you?"

"You look great," she said, pulling back to study him. "Seriously, you look great. I'm good. Older of course," she chuckled. "But I can't complain a bit. Tell me everything! Are you an artist? Married? Kids? Pets? What?"

A.J. snorted, running a hand through his still shaggy hair. "Come on, if I look great, then you're, like...great...times...a hundred or something."

Yes, eloquence was still not his strong point, and he laughed a little. "I'm boring. Just living in New York, trying to my stuff out there, but I haven't been having much luck. How about you?"

Annette blushed but laughed at him. "God, I've missed you."

"I'm in New York playing at being a lawyer and a single mom. Kind of boring too, uh? And I will never believe for a single moment that you're boring. You would totally have to prove that to me."

Laughing mostly at himself and turning just a little bit pink, A.J. shook his head. "I'm even so boring I can't think of how to prove to you that I'm not boring," he offered. "How old's the kid?"

She laughed and reached for his hand to give it a little squeeze. It was so good seeing him. So good.

"You don't look boring if that counts for anything. You look healthy and happy. Sebastian is fourteen and the current love of my life, though I am sure he would disagree with me were he to hear me say it. He's at that age where... " having a father would come in handy, "...well, he's just a teenage boy."

Fourteen. Then that would been Annette would have been...oh, hell. He was never that good at math. "You have a teenage son," he marveled a little. "I feel old!"

Annette was twenty four when she had Sebastian. Not a happy time in her life. "I do," she said proudly because now, he was all she had. "Oh hush, you. You are as gorgeous as ever..."
