After the still to be played out confusion over at the hotel, Jeff came looking for somewhere familiar to hide.

Like, say, his old big brother's music store (he wasn't aware that anyone owned the store, and had never thought to recall it as being anything other than 'Chad's Store' in years past).

He practically dove in, nearly spinned on both of his feet, pulled himself back up, and paused.

"Chad!" he said, with all due excitement. Once the moment had passed.

He wanted to say 'Hello, how are you', but got stuck on an "H...", struggled, then hacked up, "Can you hide me? I've been having this nightmare about being chased 'round an island by bosom-bearing spy tanks and I think it's come true!"

Somehow, Chad was failing to make the connection with how that was a bad thing (or maybe he'd just been a concubine to a gay alien emperor for too long), except that maybe all that running would be a little tiresome, but he shrugged and said, "Okay. You can hide out here, I guess. There's still kittens. Spy tanks aside, how've you been?"

Evie was wondering how much was unchanged; so far Turtle & Canary, and the Perk, were *exactly* as she remembered them. Which meant...

"Oh, don't tell me you've been here for twenty years!" she exclaimed as she walked in the door. "I shan't believe it, not for a moment. Although it certainly looks like it could be true."

"Yes, Evie," Chad said, grinning a little, recognizing her almost immediately although mostly because of how she talked (still funny, but cute). "I've done nothing more in the past twenty years than sit here playing with kittens."

Which wouldn't be too bad, but, you know, he was glad he didn't.

Ino poked her head into the music shop after visiting Cable, because she vaguely remembered Chad working there on Mondays. And hey, Annette had been at the post office so there was a chance he'd have shown too, right?

She grinned at the sight of him, "Man, time has only improved you hasn't it, bigger brother?"

And, since this woman calling him bigger brother wasn't dark haired with a nose that could slice skin, Chad was able to narrow it down eventually and smiled. "You think so? I could very well say the same about you, lil' sis."
