Mauvaise Chance Office/Lobby, Monday, 11/19
Xander wasn't sure if the number of twenty-years-older students roaming the island should make him nervous or curious, so he'd decided to try out the first yesterday, staying holed up in his apartment after Bridge left. Nervous had quickly turned into bored, and there were only so many times you could type "I will not disappear from all available contact and give Willow a heart-attack, nor will I die without sufficient warning filed in quadruplicate with the appropriate authorities" into an e-mail before you realized you could just use the cut and paste function to make it to the requested 1000 without getting carpal-tunnel syndrome.
So today he was trying out curious. At least as far as heading out to the office, putting out the Guy With Tools signs, kicking back with an oh-so-enthralling printout of Willow's notes on prophetic Slayer dreams, and hanging out behind the counter to see if any familiar faces wandered by. Or new ones, since those were the kind that tended to actually want apartments.

It was hard to tell if he was older or not -- despite actually living with one, Xander had no clue how frogs showed age. Aside from a guess that a non-muppet frog wouldn't be around in twenty years.

Mohinder looked round the lobby and approached the counter. "Excuse me?"
no subject
"Hey there." Xander stood up and smiled. "You're gonna think I'm an idiot if the answer's yes, but have we met? Xander Harris."

He looked around the lobby again, but it still appeared empty of anyone else. "Only I was looking to rent an apartment." The case resting at Mohinder's feet might have given that away.

Xander headed for the countertop terminal to punch up the specs on open apartments. "I've got vacancies on pretty much every floor except this one. What're you looking for? One or two bedrooms?"
no subject
"And just one bedroom, I think. I'm not expecting any visitors." Something pulled Mohinder's eye to a point on the screen. "You have a 'kitchen of doom'? And you advertise this?"
no subject
He peeked over the corner of the screen at the apartment layouts. "I didn't name the rooms - I think that was the original owner. But I'm going with Kitchen of Doom: Hunger Goes In But It Doesn't Come Out as his reasoning. It's a little bigger than most of the other kitchens in the building."
