Turtle & Canary; Monday [ 11/26 ]

Busy as usual, Turtle has her laptop with her at the counter, working on a few income reports and stock portfolios while sipping from a very large mug that she'll swear left and right was filled with coffee (it was, in reality, hot chocolate). The demure "Help Wanted" sign was still in the main window and Apu had claimed to have lost the banana suit. She was really doubtful on that last one. A banana suit seemed a difficult thing to lose.

Especially while Turtle's in class, learning things she doesn't want to know.

She is very important and very serious today, oh yes.

Marco had not been mopping around his room, really. He just felt like walking in like a sane person instead of flinging rubber bands at Turtle. "Hey."

Turtle's arched eyebrow met Marco before her eyes did; they dragged themselves away slowly from her work. "Hey, Mar--" she started, but then cut herself off with a frown. "...No sneaking in today?"

She was actually kind of grateful; she was so distracted that he could have easily gotten her. Not that it was ever that difficult.

Marco shrugged and tried for a grin. "Not in a sneaky mood. You make it too easy."

"I do not!" Turtle argued. "I'm just a very busy person. I have too many important things to do than just sit around, keeping an eye out for you trying to sneak up on me, you know."

Marco faked a pout. "Too busy even for me?"

Turtle mocked Marco's fake pout back at him. "I stopped working, didn't I?"

Marco grinned. "Does that mean I'm special?"

Turtle opened her mouth to say something, looking like she was about to argue again, but she stopped, snapped her mouth shut and drew in a breath as she eyed Marco calculatingly. "It means," she said after she decided on her approach, "that you are among a very particular elite, that's what it means."

"Awww!" Marco said. "You like me, you really like me! Now will you admit that I'm cuter than Anders?"

"Nooooo," Turtle said slowly, "because then you'd have to, you know, be cuter than Anders. Which you're not."

Marco gave her a full out pout.

Will be gone for work from 3 to 11;30 EST.

But yay job interview Wednesday with prospective, less horrible job!!!
